When I talked to you you said you had no idea what the history was on the car, and you got it off the street.
A VIN check shows it has been titled 3 times in TX and two in MI
The car's worth about $2200.

tbirdkid1987, your points would be more clearly and effectively communicated if you did not use a single, run-on sentence. Proper grammar would be helpful too.
Let us know what you get for it.

i aplogize for the bad grammar. This guy when i had my car listed on ebay asked me every question under the sun, i told him to just call me. I never heard another word from the guy till i listed it here. If he was interested he would have made a good effort to get a hold of me if he was interested. Sounds to me he was just interested in flaming me with a low ball offer. I could get 20 people with kind of money all day every day, ive turned down more than what he offered locally. the spring is coming and tax money is out there so im not worried at all. I let you know what happened. here the bay listing if anyone is interested in checking it out.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=016&sspagename=STRK%3AMEUS%3AIT&viewitem=&item=260053585398&rd=1,1

1. Why call with questions when your response to the questions I had was, "dont know much about it i bought it off the street, the guy told me it had been in storage for a # of years"
2. I never made an offer because I know we would never get close in price (which you confirmed). Just helping you what it's probably worth.
3. Offering you market value (if I did offer you $2200) isn't flaming wih a low ball price.
There was a Red XR-7 in NY with 24K miles listed at $3250 and one in Portland with 70K miles listed at $2000, both within the last month. And one in Detroit, identical to yours in every way with 70K miles that didn't sell at $2200.
If you get your asking price, I would be happy for you. Good luck.

Is it 8 out of 10 or 9 out of 10? Becasue your Ebay ad said 8 now you are saying 9 did you fix somethings on the car since then?
Title: yes i did
Post by: tbirdkid1987 on January 02, 2007, 06:58:55 PM
i fixed a few flaws that would make the car better, that i didnt like on the car, if the other cars are so much better elsewhere and so much cheaper why didnt you buy them since there such a great deal? and so much better than mine? If the deal is so much better then go buy theres, im not hard up and dont need your money. If someone is serious about not wanting a basket case or wanting to take for ever to restore a car, this car could be for you. The people i deal with deal in cash you didnt even make one bid of any interest, so why would i waste my time telling you any thing anyway you live in texas or something if remember, i guess it must be to expensive for you to make a phone call then, if you were truely interested. i highly doubt it that ill sell for 2 grand fat chance you can get some of those rusted out projects full of nice bondo, and all the hype. The car for sale if you got cash we can deal, talk is very cheap, and the internet is full of cheap talk i can get any where. I look at it this way tax refunds are coming up and so are the cruises and car shows, i have nothing but time to wait, im not worried at all.

i had about 25 watchers besides mr xjeffs the expert on theses cars and an offer than was about a low ball offer like the experts offer here, i decided to try elsewhere, like this board and a few others, i'll be pushing its sale in the spring if nothing else.

You know, don't take this personally, Skip, but your pricing is highly subjective. When a majority of these cars with similar features and mileage sell within a given price range, but yours is priced more, do you not expect to get questioned about it? There are many people here that constantly watch eBay, check online price guides, and browse car-related sites to keep an eye on pricing (I'd know, I'm one of them). For the most part, pricing is self-regulating...in other words, people tend to sell within a common, accepted range. Too high or low out of that range, and you can expect some questions. That's all I'm saying. If you indeed get that price, more power to you. But don't expect to gain a huge profit here...you will get called to the carpet and the consequences will be something you'll have to deal with.
For the record...a few of us have been dealing with these cars for over 20 years. We'll keep our own counsel on who's the "expert" and who's not.

i wonder what happened to justify an exempt od reading in the red areas below. For some odd reason, the od reading is missing from that point forward. There have been "corrections" or "updates" to the content of the title which connects to the time in which the od reading becomes blank. (what part was corrected or changed is a matter of a simple phone call to the dmv. it makes me wonder why someone would have a lean on a car like this and not use it back when it was not a collector,, furthermore, why would they only have put on so few of miles from 1992 to 1998? when subsequently there happens to be and odometer exemption note.
This car is on its 6th title since 1992 alone (not to mention the 2 additional ones prior. Its odd how a car could have 6 different titles and travel from TX to MI and not get used much during the years 1992 up to 2007 accumulating only 6713 miles in 15years. The car had three leans on it during these 15 years, its odd someone would borrow money on a used car they just bought (which at the time these were "no big deal" cars) and not have to use the car to get to work to pay off the lean.
its just odd, but the condition of the car supports the od,, i think.
Now let me pick on (arfax for a moment,,, here is what they claim at the top of the home page """GUARANTEED - None of these major title problems were reported by a state Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). If you find that any of these title problems were reported by a DMV and not included in this report, CARFAX will buy this vehicle back. """

Odometer exempt means that after ten years, the owner is not required to report the mileage.
The thing that bugs me is that he called it a one owner car in his original post.

its a one family owned car, as far as i know and me and my brother, are the recent owners from michigan, the car has been in storage for many years,at the time of purchase, i didnt make at a point to give the original owner a retal exam while i was there, got the car thinking i was going to keep it for a long time, but there something else i wanted more than this car, and times do change, i went through everything and replaced hoses belts and what nots i felt needed changing, the car drives very nice and everything works, i have no idea what leans your talking about and honestly car fax is mostly useless about finding all the histories of a vehicle is just a guide, i bought it for investment purposes, and probably plan i selling in the spring, make all the negitive comments you wish to make it will sell one way or another, if your interested bring your cash not your negitive comments, if your interested and have money not food stamps, you can contact me direct at pchickenleg@aol.com

Now that you have started talk harsh about people you will have a hard time selling this car on here.

this guy was one of a few persons interested in my car at the time it was on ebay when i was selling it, asked me like a ton of questions, but had no money to show for his efforts, yes there nothing wrong with it, i do all my own work i just replaced the ovious due to it sitting for a long period of time, tires, new brake shoes turned the rotors, this car has also be repainted by the previous owner, due to someone putting brake fluid all over the car at the time, this car drive any where any time and any distance, i took it out a couple of times last week i have 3 cars of my own and i just take this one to the shows and drive up to the store here and there, im sorry to come off as a smart ass but i had myshare of internet no money jerk offs waste my time. like i said earlier one family owned, like i said in storage for many years, if some of the story worries you id say dont buy it then, its not like i have to beg someone to buy it and your not going to get 100% of the true story anyway from day one, like cars like this grow on trees everyday, go down to some of those classic car places and see what your'd pay? probably 7 to 8 grand, after the bend over with financing and the other thing about the tach there nothing wrong with it i just may have taken the pics just when i was shutting it off real quick, im pretty much blut, i seen whats for sale here and its not even close to what i have, you pay a grand of so for a fixer up car and when your done you have about what i have for sale with a ton of more mileage on top of it. what would you rather have?

He probably has e-commerce technology phobia like me. I dont really trust it,, more like i dont trust who can see my critical personnal information being maintained by an outsourced one world economy.
i usually dont like pm or im or e-whatever to communicate. If your afraid to pick up a phone and talk , you must like hiding behind the keyboard. Im old fashoned like that but i think you can get to the bottom of things just by pickup the phone. I guess calling people now a days is becoming out of style.
An example is like here when someone pm's me about a problem. I get to type back and forth on IM or PM for a while until suddenly the e-converstation starts to look like scrambled eggs cause you try to talk about a couple different things. I usually just pass my phone number and say ,, call me. Well,,, 9 times out of 10 i get no call,, its like most people are chicken to pick up the phone. Perhaps they feel they can type thier mind better than speak it. I guess some people can feel more power by not calling,, they can just tell you off in email/im , click send, then slam you on their ignore list.
Anyhooo,,,, you all should have talked,, it would have been better in the long run.
I cant see how someones attitude will prevent someone from selling something even if he did make a foodstamp comment. Yeah the comment was a low blow but are you gonna stop shopping at wal-mart cause they have a bad attitude, lol, i dont think so. What your really trying to say is ... I dont wanna hear your voice im afraid to call because you might transmit a disease across the phone line i feel in control when i stick to the computer ill have the last word if i wanna i want you to be nice to me on my terms i want whatever you have as cheap as i can get it even if it means i undercut my buddy,
this thread is getting stupid,, he's got a good thing for sale, you can determine if it has issues, the price is not right depending on your view, if you think the car is stolen like the other one was "claimed", well it has a valid DMV title # so its not on you as the buyer to worry bout that, sue DMV. f'k his attitued, it aint his attitued for sale. he probably would not like mine if he made the unfortunate move of g me off.
sorry guys, py mood. Nevertheless, i mean what i say and i say what i mean.:grinno:

Title: like j. cassity said, this thread is going no where
Post by: tbirdkid1987 on January 08, 2007, 08:12:16 PM
ive done many transactions on ebay and else where, that feedback was from about 3 years ago, where the guy tried to rip me off with feedback extortion, so it goes to show anyone can rip you off at any time if you dont watch yourself, he did get his truck and his title, i was new to ebay and didnt know the ins and outs of what some people can do and what people cant do, but i have well over 200 positive feedbacks and a few negitive ones from people who leave revenge feedback for stuff they never paid me for. but thats the price of doing business, and thats what happens on ebay, ive bought and sold and have been burned both ways, besides about 30 transactions no one left feedback. Since this thread seems to be one sided againest me why doesnt slamedcat put the rest of the feedback thats positive up there too? Like i said a one way converstion, and this is going no where, i just came to try to sell my car and i get all this from 2 internet idiots that choose to slam me. Since its quit ovious that your not interested in doing nothing but slam my car and prevent anyone interested in buying something nice. But hey this is the internet lots of talkers and no buyers, p.s i do quite well buying and selling on ebay bought 3 things and sold 18 this month alone, so others on ebay dont share your opinion.

You ARE still having some trouble selling this car. You listed it over on Corral.net on Nov. 14, 2006 with 55K instead of 56K (we'll assume you've driven it some) for $5500. No bites on the line there..........

Then why try wasting your breath (energy typing?) Just leave then.....Why try to defend yourself if it's so one sided? I don't get why you won't drop it if you feel it's pointless.

its a one family owned car, as far as i know and me and my brother, are the recent owners from michigan, the car has been in storage for many years,at the time of purchase, i didnt make at a point to give the original owner a retal exam while i was there, got the car thinking i was going to keep it for a long time, but there something else i wanted more than this car, and times do change, i went through everything and replaced hoses belts and what nots i felt needed changing, the car drives very nice and everything works, i have no idea what leans your talking about and honestly car fax is mostly useless about finding all the histories of a vehicle is just a guide, i bought it for investment purposes, and probably plan i selling in the spring, make all the negitive comments you wish to make it will sell one way or another, if your interested bring your cash not your negitive comments, if your interested and have money not food stamps, you can contact me direct at pchickenleg@aol.com ("pchickenleg@aol.com")

Why do you feel like you have to fight to save your bruised ego? "Who you are" should be all the contribution to your ego that you need. It obviously isn't.
You give Detroiters a bad name.

Lot of talkers from all over the U.S. right in this one spot. Hell I even talked to a friend of mine that has been looking for a Cougar or a Thunderbird since his other car died. But after I send him teh link and he read the feedback hes even a little leary of buyin it.
P.S. I'm glad you do well on buying and selling Ebay stuff. I prefer to goto the store and have social interaction in my life than to buy stuff off ebay.

I don't have to catch you in a lie. You admitted to one in this very thread putting a smirch on your credibility. I don't think everythings a scam. Your lie, however raises the possibility that you may be. I'm not the only one to post that.
I'll look wherever I please for info on you as I'm sure you've now done the same concerning me. ***I hope someone who is a member of Corral.net or SCCOA.com posts this in one of those respective locations as well so they can see the person they've been dealing with. I'm not joining a forum just to make a one post link.***

I DIDN'T have a problem with you until your last post. I had a problem with the deception, which is not necessarily a problem with you. You're last post blew that out of the water.....
And why do this through private e-mail when it's entirely much more entertaining to watch you make a fool of yourself by resorting to name calling when someone asks a question?

I hear Detroit is cold this time of year:p Don't try to goad me into threatening you. Far better than you have tried. And failed. Miserably.

I can see your eyesight is just as good as your integrity:rolleyes: It's a pickle. The picture was taken on vacation during a funny moment. Others on here seem to enjoy it as well as myself.
I can see that you do, infact, have many positive feedbacks on eBay. However when you receive a negative feedback, that person is rewarded with a name calling retort in their own feedback section. No one person can make everyone happy. You don't seem to realize that. Instead of just shrugging it off and letting go, you get VERY defensive and resort to childish web-behavior and name calling even when the other person is simply asking a question to get some clarification.
Lastly, in honor of your behavior, I will retort in a way you can understand..... (Admins, I apologize in advance, but it simply must be done)

Nice one, Paul...that's your good side, too. ;)
Again I will state: if you're out of the norm, you're going to get a lot of questions here. We have a LOT of people post cars for sale on this board (because it's free to join, obviously), but a majority of them only join the board for that reason alone, and most of them don't even bother to come back to answer questions. It gets frickin' annoying for the regulars. And the admins.
That being said, it's appreciated that you are answering some things and clearing up a bit of the confusion. It's refreshing that you're still coming back to respond.
What I'd like to know, though, is why any question asked of you is interpreted as "negative". Do you really think everyone is out to get you or something? It seems like you're only going to be non-hostile if someone has cash in hand. We understand that you're serious about selling the car...there is no confusion about that. But if someone here would be just as serious about buying it, and wants to ask about a few details, why would you get so defensive? You know, we've all been "tire-kickers", as you put it, at one point or another and I'm willing to bet you were just the same way when you bought this car. Just a little consideration is all that's being asked here. If you want to go all defensive and whatnot...well...buyer beware.

This is some of the most fun I have ever had while visiting this board! I never realized that there were so many well-spoken, intelligent people on here (and most have good grammar and punctuation too!)!
Keep up the great work!
Now buy my parts!:grinno:

yes eric you do have a point, if any one would have bother to check the feedback above the negitive one i sold 2 trucks that week and the other guy put very honest person to deal on the truck he just bought he took a flight from missouri to pick it up too, since we are talking about the truth here, i noticed the other pin head didnt bother to point that out to anyone either maybe he will post that feedback while he such a nosy guy and mr. know it all. Goofball paul i like the middle finger put too a 3 grade education to put that up. I know his old lady would weep if i broke it off and shoved it up his ass for him. The only thing that would bet his smart ass to the hospital would be the headlights of the ambulance. hey paul anytime you want me to send you the money so you can come out from behind that computer, and be a real man let me know, ill pay your way here, and send you on your way home with your tail between you legs, so you can go back home and tell your old that you got punked out by a 5 ft 130 lbs man

Ok, this has just gotten too stupid. tbirdkid - you do know that threatening a cop is a felony (not that Paul would likely take your silliness seriously), right? And you talk about a third grade education and proceed to rant like a third grader. Sure makes me want to do business with you...
Anyway, I'll not close this thread - I'll let our new marketplace cop decide if he wants to close it or not.

I agree...this has gotten stupid....
tbirdkid1987...all your posts have been in this thread and one other for sale post. Half of them have been of the type that I'm not even going to come close to allowing. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but no one is entitled to make threats.
If you're going to sell a car....post ALL the info and pics. If you choose not to, then don't complain about "tire kickers". How else are folks supposed to find out information if you don't tell them?
I am locking this thread and will lock any other posts you make that get out of hand like this.
