Would anyone happen to have the step by step for a mustang AOD to T5 swap?
Pls dont make me go hunting down stang sites. It gonna be pretty much the same but different with respect to our cars.
This mustang happens to be one of those years where the 4cyl had 8 plugs,, knotch back stang is the patient.
anyone?
I know there are some differnces and maybe some specific info of what to do and what not to do would be helpful.
scott
actually, its all the same, the only difference will be the wiring is already there, and there are no holes to be cut
thanks man.
Just asking cause it seems like i might become the information resource for the swap,,,,imagine that :dunno:
well, i have the garage/tools/computer in the garage ect so maybe im getting used. hummm , naw, i cant charge him.
Once again if you go to the coolcats.net tech section there is a aod to t-5 swap info. I would pull it up but I am lazy right now
for a mustang?,, ill have to check that out.
its still for the cougar/tbird, but all of the information is the same, i cant remember where i read it, but if i recall, i have even heard that the nuetral safety switch wiring is in the dash somewhere, the plug is taped up, but i dont know if you have to change connectors when swapping the tranmission
and its an a4ld to t5 swap :p
now your talking,, thats the kind of stuff i was more interested in,, the little hidden things like that.
It was also nice that you knew right off the bat that the wiring is all there and the holes are just waiting. very helpful
Yup, that is correct...
That said, the A4LD is longer by about 4" than a T5(or AOD), You'll need the T5 D/S and crossmember.
good call Tom, thats something i forgot about
im assuming you either have a parts car, or a car in the junkyard this is all getting robbed from, if not, theyre still easy pieces to aqquire
