Title: Leather seat solutions
Post by: xjeffs on December 08, 2006, 12:20:59 AM
On the 87-88's, is it possible to convert a passenger seat to a driver seat?

Can the seat back be swapped?  The seat bottom?  Both?

Thanks

Jeff

I suppose you could install the seats on the opposite side they were intended for, but, the seat levers, seatbelt retainer, etc. would be on the wrong side.

You could infact take the seat cover off and install it on a seat frame for the driverside.
If your seats are power lumber with the adjustable side bolster you would have holes in your seat up against the console.  But out of view, and you would have to poke holes on the opposite side...

Also, the not so pretty part.. the forward tilt on the seats, that lever pokes through the back on the outside of the seat.  If you install the passenger seat cover on the driver side that hole will now be on the inside and without anything to cover it.
