Title: Egr spacer woes
Post by: 87cougar347 on November 30, 2006, 11:34:11 AM
I hit about 4g on my tach last night and now the egr is dumping antifreeze all over the engine. WTF is going on?

The EGR irself,or the spacer that it's bolted to?You may have ruptured one of the water lines that run through it,or,one of the gaskets between it and the T-Body is bad.Just a couple of ideas for you.

How about actually looking at it since you're the one standing there....

I have looked at it, what I was wondering is is there anything else that might be damaged, I can see that the water is coming out from around the metal tube that comes out of the backside of the spacer, and also coming directly out of the EGR.

It's probably NOT comming out of the egr as no coolant runs through the egr. Try changing the two little hoses that go to the egr spacer. I bet that will solve the problem.

BTW how did you pop the coolant line at 4,000 rpm? I've had mine at or past 4,000 rpms with no ill effects. I've poped a heater hose loafing along at 35 mph so go figure

I' don't know why it poped, I've had mine past that rpm before with no problems, but not this time.
