Well, starting about 2 months ago, I noticed my Brown Thunderbird (Pictured Below) was burning oil. I recently changed my oil, and while under the car, I noticed oil on some exhaust pipes, and other various places it shouldn't be.
Fast forward to right now, I just got home and got out of the car and smelled that burning oil smell. I popped the hood and low and behold oil is leaking out of that Tube that you put oil into on the Passenger Side Valve Cover. Actually, it appeared to be coming out of the base of the tube, right where it enters the Valve Cover.
Is there a seal down there that might be broken? How does one remove this oil Filler Tube?
Isn't that filler neck pressed in...? I can't remember. Anyway, that sucks. I'm not sure any kind of sealants would help ya. Might be time to look for a new valve cover. I haven't run a stock valve cover for many, many years and there's not even one in my pile o' parts that I can double check for ya.
I've got two sets of the black factory covers. If you need one,let me know.Warning:They are a little dirty, but in great shape.
give da man a cookie.......:iagree: i think it was press or a weld/bond thing, depending upon covers........
The stock filler neck is pressed in and is SUPPOSED to have a baffle underneath it so the EGR line running into it doesn't suck up oil getting sloshed around by moving parts.
