Post by: catt88 on November 27, 2006, 11:52:32 PM
Has anyone put a roll bar into the cat or bird, just wondering what size to use, it would only be for show of course. I was going to use
1 1/2 inch or maybe 2 inch ler pipe.
what do you think.

Why?A roll bar for "show"?I don't get it.You must be under 21.Perhaps someone will chime in that can help you get your exhaust pipe roll bar made.Good luck.

I think it's really a waste of time.  No, I'm not trying to be a dick, it really is a waste of time.  Sticking metal pipes inside the car without fastening them is probably going to do more harm than good, especially if you get in a wreck.

I agree, waste of time.

If you want something "for looks" screw an aluminum wing to the trunk.

If you want to "show" something, dres up the engine, throw on a nice exhaust, some cool wheels.Leave the fake roll bars to the tuner boys.

You read my mind.  Could also cover it in electrical tape for that faux-paint look.

LMAO I can't even begin to think of the shiznit he could put in/on or under his car.
Seriously:
How about a real performance engine for starters.

Leave the cages, big-assed 8" monster tachs, and wings for when the car needs such stuff (not that they "need" a wing)...i'd imagine that a 20 year old or so car needs (some) maintenance before performance.

I want to see pics of the "Boss 302".I've heard a hundred people say they have one,but no-one can ever produce a picture of one.Do people really understand what a real Boss is?Hey Cat88,listen to the guys on this forum, and you'll be fine. Before adding fake roll bars, and other such items, ask here first. We will give you an honost opinion and then make your decision. These cars don't accept certain mods very well. They are picky about what they like, and how they look.Unlike the tuner cars and Chevys.

I used to talk to a guy with a Mustang that told me he had a rollbar made for it out of exhaust pipe. Even went so far as to paint it and put rollbar padding on it. I never saw pics but I always thought that was pretty gay, especially considering you can buy a real 4-point rollbar for what, $200? :dunno:
