LAKE FOREST– Nicole Catsouras, 18, of Ladera Ranch was killed Tuesday afternoon when her black Porsche 911 Carrera clipped a Honda she was trying to pass on the right at more than 100 mph on the Eastern (241) Toll Road, the California Highway Patrol said.
Catsouras was driving southbound near Alton Parkway when she suddenly switched lanes and lost control of the Porsche, CHP officials said, and then cut across the center median, careened across several lanes of traffic and crashed into a tollbooth.
The 20-year-old driver of the Honda was taken to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.

I have heard on other forums that she was drunk and stole the car, these are unconfirmed however. In any case an 18 year old should not have access to a car that is that difficult to control. Fast cars ok, I wish I could have had access to a really fast car when I was younger, but a freaking 911 carrera race car drivers with decades of experience can lose it in those things. You can't expect an 18 year old to know when she's in over her head. I have so much respect for porches just like my old crotch rocket, if you don't well this kind of thing will happen.
Blame the parents to some extent.I'm sure she didn't buy the car.......unless,as you stated,she stole it.Where the does an 18 year old girl steal one of THOSE???

When I was in high school I used to get in enough trouble with my T-bird and the lo po 5.0 SO. I never wreaked it or damaged it but I almost lost it a few times doing stupid stuff. I would have killed myself in a 911..........

Well that just sucks! Another car that is dangerous... though it is the person driving who is at fault not the car... but it will be that the car did it.
Sucks though, just get done with 4 years of hell to end life like that, it is just not right.

I just come from the site of the pics of the Young Girl died in a car crash, and not opened the thumbnails, What is the interest to see this kind of horror, I don't understand this, I prefer to see Our wild Birds or Cats here, or something related, Just the car crashed on the toll building is enough...
What is this morbid curiousity we have to see a dismembered body???, the car crashed okay, it's a bit spectacular, but the human inside the car is absolutely horrible, I don't have interest in that, absolutely not...
So, I'm curious too, I was go to see the pics (thumbnails), no more, for what?, I don't know...

Sorry I forgot to mention she supposedly stole it from her dad. Sorry bout the links I just cut and pasted them. I don't enjoy looking at things like that, but being an athletic training student and training to be a paramedic i'm a little desensitized to things like that, but I did warn you. An 18 year old has no business in a car like that BMWs, benzs, vettes, ok they are much more stable cars and dont have as steep a learning curve as a god porche. Someone else said it give a kid access to a gun don't get pissy when they shoot it. Even in the right hands a 911 is tricky at best. Drunk + 18 years old + Porche 911 + 100 plus mph = Tragedy. The alcohol container was in the Honda. It wasn't a factor. It was pure speed in this case. NO ONE, no matter how experienced, should be driving 100+ on the street with other traffic in the vicinity, if for no other reason than the fact that you cant count on that driver doing 65 in the other lane maintaining his lane. If you're traveling at 100+ and someone cuts you off you have no time to react.
If anything, those pictures have awakened me to the brutal reality of what can happen when operating at those speeds on a public highway. That will definitely give me puase next time I'm running late for something and concidering "hauling ass".
Now...the next stupid motherf*cker that posts a story about how he blew the doors off of (insert vehicle here) had well better remember this post...

It sucks that she lost her life so young, but thank god or whoever you may believe in that she didn't kill anybody else.

I'm not sure I'm buyin the fact that those pictures are real. The story seems real enough and is in numerous places, but something in me says the photos MAY (and I do mean MAY) be a stunt. A fatal car accident becomes a crime scene. Evidence technicians would take photos for crime scene buttstuffysis to be sure, but no one else SHOULD be getting close enogh to that scene to be doing so.
The Porsche would be impounded most likely by a Flatbed owned by the law enforcement agency that has jurisdiction over the area where the crash occured. ANYONE not authorized to be in the area would be moved back far enough and some type of perimeter around the wreckage should have been set up. In one photo a blonde haired woman apparently with some type of law enforcement patch upon her shoulder is collecting evidence. Wish I could wear sneakers with MY uniform:rolleyes:
Even if they ARE infact real photos they seem too high in quality to have been taken by a camera phone. If they ARE real I would have to venture that they would have been taken by someone authorized to be in the crime scene area due to the fact in one photo about 6 people are in the background, 1 being a uniformed police officer who seems to be interviewing someone. I HOPE he would notice some person walking around the car who doesn't belong. Finally, not too many people who would be authorized to be there would snap off personal pictures of it, let alone post them on the internet.
I'm gonna say 60% chance of total BS on the pics. An elaborate stunt maybe set in motion by some people who took advantage of a tragic story, or perhaps they invented the story as well.
Did I miss a mention of a camera phone being used? The pic headers say EASTMAN KODAK COMPANY KODAK CX7430 ZOOM DIGITAL CAMERA, a 4Mpix "current" model.

Nope, you missed no camera phone mention. I was making a point that they didn't look like the type of photo to be taken in a way that was secretive. They appear to be deliberate photos with persons in the area most likely having a clue to their happening.
If they had been from a fair distance away it's possible to say no, but these are right up on it within the apparent investigation area and quite graphic and telling to be sure. One would hope that an unauthorized person would have a hard fought battle walking away without some type of repurcussions. Would you want one of YOUR loved ones plastered all over the internet in this manner?
