I just recently purchased a Spec II Clutch from Centerforce. Does anyone make a aftermarket release bearing (throwout bearing) for the 2.3L that won't squeak?
If you guys know of one post a link up i would really appreciate it.
Most guys use parts store stuff. Squeeking is a sign of a worn out bearing.
Mine squeaks like a more than a house packed full of mice. It's freaking annoying. Between that and the rattling calipers, and the smell of 93 Octane I just might lose it.
I'm going spray brake cleaner in there and lube the bearing and fork and hope it goes away. Mine mainly squeaks when idling and at low speeds... when does yours squeak?
93 octane bothers you? I cant stand the smell of 87.
Squeaks at idle and and if you listen you can hear it when driving to.
Shawn i have bought a new T/O bearing and it lasted 2000 miles and it started chirping again, it is not a sign of a worn out t/o bearing the chirping is caused by the aluminum bearing housing and the Snot on the transmission, If i had a mustang I would be able to replace it for a steel one. The only solution I have thought of is to take it to a machine shop and have them machine it down accordingly and put on a steel sleeve over it.
I've been using the one that came with my perfection cutch kit. I've had it in there for 20,000 miles and it has never made a sound. Not sure what brand they use but I've read of others have problems with theres and I have lucked out. Look up perfection brand clutchs and see if they tell you what brand they use. Also I have used BCA Fedral Mogal bearings in other cars and haven't had any problems So try either.
If you spray lubricant in there, use caution not to get any on the clutch surfaces.
Mine sounds like a cricket on crack.
Not really. But the 93 I have in there now reeks. Gives me a headache.
If you rest your foot on the pedal does it go away? Mine does.
Yes exactly the same problem.
I noticed I had that problem yesterday. Clutch and throwout bearing have about 1600 miles.
