Ok so I'm getting some upholstery work done over the winter and I want to make sure that I have smoke gray seats. The interior code for my car is *LG* which should mean L=leather and G=smoke gray. The only trouble I'm having is that the dealer brochure for the 88 T-bird says that medium gray is the only option. I have to order some leather for the front seats and I want to make sure I get the right color so it matches the back:grinno: . I'm including a pic of the back seats just for reference. On a side note has anyone ever seen a T-bird LX with the consolette and leather? All of the other T-birds with leather I've seen have been console cars with the Turbo Coupe/Sport seat with the back seat done to match. Mine are just like the regular LX cloth seats but done up in leather. Is this something rare?
OK, your codes are correct so that is Smoke Grey (which is also referred to as Medium Grey). Just a word of warning, though...I seriously doubt you're going to find matching OE leather for that. You'll probably end up going with vinyl. The OE stuff was discontinued a loooooonnnnnggggggg time ago. However...you'll probably find a very good match, for a lot less money. Are you going through an upholstery shop or through SVPU or something?
The split 60/40 seats with consolette and leather...not totally unheard of but not common either. I've seen a few cars like that before. Do you also have the power recline option?
I'm glad I'm right on the color. The upholstery shop wanted to know exactly what color it was so they can try to find something close to it. We've already found out that OE stuff isn't avaliable so we're trying to come close with aftermarket stuff. I'm hoping that we can find a leather close to this some where. If not I'll have to go with leather-look vinyl. I kinda wanted leather though, even though it costs more.
So you've actually seen another 60/40 consolette car with leather? I never have. I figured there were some, just not many. Yes I do have power recline and dual power seats. This car puzzles me at times. It has every option for the LX but two: the full console and a sun roof. Why someone would order every option but those two is beyond me.
