I was just wondering but are the base Fox Mustang (87-93) seats the same as the seats used in T-bird LX and base models as well as non XR7 Cougars? They look really similar to me.
If this helps I put 91LSC seats in a 88 stang just re-bolted lsc seats to the stang brackets went smooth.
They're slightly different but close enough - I put Mustang seat frames in my '87 Sport a few years ago to get rid of the infamous "fox lean" (used the T-Bird covering because it was different then the Mustang upholstery).
I've used the entire seat bottom from a base Mustang and just threw on the Cougar upholstery...worked perfectly. I think everything was identical to our base seats, IIRC. Yeah, come to think of it...that's what I did for a full console installation. Instead of cutting off the consolette, I just picked up a base Mustang driver's seat, swapped the material, and bolted that onto the back of the Cougar seat. Worked like a charm. ...that was a long time ago LOL.
I swapped some TC seats into my Tempo. I had to remove the powere seat base and install the Tempo rails but all the bolt holes were there.
-i put some tc leather seats in my ranger a couple years ago. they use very different seat track because of the shape of the floor pan, but the seat base holes were the same as the ranger, so all i had to do was change out the seat tracks.....
That's what I'm gonna do, put the TC covers (after I dye them solid black) on the seat frames currently in my bird, and leave the halo headrests...I think it'll look good.
So 94-04 Mustang seats (power or not) should bolt to my power seat tracks correct? I'm thinking if I can find some nice gray leather ones it might be a nice upgrade.
