Title: Wheels and tires
Post by: usnlightning on January 04, 2005, 09:58:52 PM
Original 14 inch wheels and brand new tires from when i first purchased my bird. I planned on keeping them for winter tires, but they are really just taking up space. I realize these are not what you might consider a "sport" type of wheel, but if someone is looking for a nice set of wheels with brand new tires. these would fill the bill nicely.

I will take 200.00 for the set. I think that sounds reasonable. Prefer not to ship, but if necessary I will. Price will be modified to reflect shipping charges. I am located at 62225 (Scott AFB, IL)

What size are the tires are on the wheels?  Also, are they OEM or just new tires on stock wheels?

I don't suppose shipping is a reasonable thing to do.  You're about a 7 hour drive from where I'm at.  Could you possibly get me a shipping quote?  I don't know how to go about shipping tires & wheels.  I know you can ship tires individually, but the wheels will be tricky.  You may be able to ship without actually boxing them up.

*EDIT*

Zip is 50014 by they way.  You might need that.

I'llcheck. I'll have to get a weight for each. I have a sneaky suspicion that meeting halfway during some weekend and giving me half for gas (my wife's minivan, not the 9mpg Lightning) would probably be a whole lot more feasible.  By the way, where exactly are you located?

Might try shipping it by bus, when I moved from manitoba to B.C. I shipped my computer (big 90lb box) via greyhound for $35. Shipping by train might also be worth looking into if your that close to each other.

According to my geo program, St. Louis and DeMoine are 270 miles apart. I am 20 minutes east of STL. Find a decent halfway point and this could work.

Geographically, yes they're that close, but when you break it down to highways, it's amounts to about 400 miles or so.  I found a good halfway point, Keokuk.  It's a 227 mile drive for me and about 200 for you.  Unless you can find somewhere better, that's the best I could come up with.

I don't know of any train depot in the state of Iowa and I'm not sure how to ship via greyhound.  Did you just go to bus station and ask for shipping?

a little off topic, but do you have the original picture (original size and such)? If so, would you mind sending it to me? Minus the lighting, I like the image :)

That is the actual picture from when I bought the car. Yes, the yellow lightning is a bit off-kilter.

Amooset,

Are you familiar with that location? Can you recommend a landmark (McD's, WalMart, etcetera to meet at?

I'm not really familair with that region, but there is Walmart super center north of town that should be fairly easy to find.  Keokuk isn't all that big and we shouldn't have any issues finding the place.  I'm not sure when I'll have the time/money.  I don't ever work saturdays, but my roommate will have to give me a ride down since he has a truck.  Depends on his schedule really.  I won't have the money until probably later this month.  We've got pleny of time to iron out the details.
