sorry wouldnt let me edit.
Well with it being a 86 you could get a SVO,or the better of the 2 Turbo coupe one. Then best setup would be a front mount. But you can score a decent top mount on ebay for cheap and front mount that. It is real easy to top mount it but then you'll need a hood or put some form of a scoop on yours. I do have a pic of my engine bay with the turbo coupe top mounted I/c
front mount all the way! I just recently installed a front mount on my 83, and love it (or did the one night it ran completely). I personally am on a budget (as are lots here) and do not have the $500+ for a stinger front mount. I got lucky and got my front mount for a good price, but you can build one cheap that will way outflow mine!! Shawn is in the midst of building a nice setup, and he has pics! You can get cores real nicely priced on ebay and just plumb tubing in. That NPR box truck core is a verrrry nice intercooler!! If I am going to put another in my 83, that'll definatly be the core! Hopefully people will chime in here that have pieced there own front mounts together... HTH

There is a Motorsport FMIC Kit for sale on Corral.net for $200.
Here's my old liquid-to-air IC I made with my boss for the SVO.
Used a stop sign (!) for the top because it is nice thick aluminum and I had it sitting around. He heli-arced it to the aluminum body of the stock SVO IC. The bottom piece on the stock IC is steel, so we got a sheet of 16-ga and welded that. Used some basic 5/8" pipe fittings welded/arced to the proper location and some removable 90* plastic elbows with barbs for the hoses. Had a dedicated Igloo ice chest in the hatch area with a 12V pump from an RV, one that is used to provide running water to the sinks, restroom, etc. You can find them at Grainger.
Also, figured some of your turbo4 guys would appreciate the "power four" that kinda emulates the Buick power six found on Grand Nationals. Like this: http://www.4vehicleaccessories.com/productimages/daytona/thumb_image089.png
I had these made up in vinyl, only cost me four bucks, and was the part of the car that got the most comments.
That's a pretty neat setup. Nice. :grinno:
