can someone shed some light on what all these letters and #'s mean on the tag that is bolted to the rear axle
6x-8a 3e04
47 75 v 452a
You need to look CAREFULLY at the #s again... Specifically the first ones on each line, though I believe it's the botton line that gives the ratio...
3e04 is date, May 04 '83 (or '93)
75 = 7.5"
452a is the model number Ford uses for parts ordering...
-not sure of what year you have but tc50 is right, date is prolly '83
47 is part of the ratio, which in 83-84 there was a measley 2.47 ratio. v452a is v is the axle plant, 452a is the model code. 6x-8a, clueless unless it is a plant code of some kind....
Thanks alot guys.
