Title: Question about console faceplate value...
Post by: vinnietbird on November 02, 2006, 02:16:39 PM
I was digging around in the garage and found a console faceplate (where the seat controls and all would be),but it only has holes for the power windows. It is delete of power mirrors, and seats.Just power windows.I want to put it on E-Bay,I can never use it.What is fair to ask.I would've asked in the for sale thread, but it's going to E-Bay.Any ideas?I've never seen one like it before.

Is it for a full console, or just the consolette? It'd be hard to put a value on it - it's a rare option combo, which means not many people would have any use for it. If it were for, say, a '71 HemiCuda ragtop it might be worth something, but these cars aren't quite collectible enough to buy parts just for the sake of having 'em (unless you happen to be Eric :D)

I had a rare one once, too - the consolette style, but with no holes in it at all. The '85 Bird I had didn't have power windows, seats or mirrors. It was just a flat space (handy to set a can of pop on, with no fears of shorting anything out if it spilled :p)

Hey! I resemble that remark!

Fair price...hmm...keep in mind that lots of NATO guys peruse eBay too, and there may be some TC owners out there that need that panel. I'd say maybe start off at $15-25 US and see where it goes from there. If it doesn't sell you always have a market here.

digging up the old here
i just found one of those "no option" blank consolette plates in excellent condition at the junkyard today in an 85-6 cougar and was thinking about grabbing it as it caught my eye for being odd, another cougar had only power windows plate too and an odd climate control.
should i?

I wouldn't mind having a console control with only the mirror & mirror controls since I switched over to a manual driver's seat (with tracks I bought from vinnie even, heh), but I painted mine and it looks kinda nice...so I dunno.

Dammit I didn't even realize how old this was...oops.

I understand,so $15.00 shipped you decide you want it.I'll take to PM from here so I don't turn this into a for sale thread.............which kind of already appened.
