I have a modified suspention underneath my t-bird, as most know. I know the front end is completely Griggs racing GR 40, but the rear is a different story. I havnt been able to identify the lower control arms at all, so I fuigerd I'd post some pics and ask all of you to help! LOL

Yes, yes it is LOL The bushings were a little dry last time, so I greased them good. LOL I need to take all of this stuff off soon and re-powdercoat it all.... as you can see, its just a little rusty. :)

HAHAHAH thats funny. I'm planning on pretty much por-15ing the heck out of the entire underside of the car. i just did the door bottoms and a rocker panel, and it looks pretty neat. And considering it dries gloss black, i dont even have to paint!
Hmmm, this POR-15 looks like it might be a good solution to stop the flaky rust that's starting underneath the car. , though $125 for a gallon? How much would it take to do the underbody of the car?
South Side Machine is no longer in business, Lakewood now makes them under their part number #21314 so you might be able to get replacement bushings from them.

Ifixyawata: Lets see.... One quart will cover 96 square feet in one coat, so I'd say no more than 2 quarts at the most. Its the best stuff ive ever seen, and well worth the money.
Just an update on this one. I found a replacement set of bushings for 71.34 shipped, and instead of the nylon they origionaly came with, they are solid aluminum. Now here's the problem. Ive been looking at a couple of different sets of southsides thinking that for that price, i may just be able to replace them outright. I have to say, the ones i have on my car are looking a lot different than most ive seen. For example, my swyaybar bolts through the bar, and is attatched on the inside of the liftbars. Also, I see all the southside bars have a or something the extends underneath them.
Are we completely sure these are southsides??? I remember a member on here having to lengthen them by 3/4 of an inch to make them fit right on an 88 bird....mine have all the appearance of never being cut at all. I'm starting to think that these anr't southsides.... what do you all say?? I'll mesure the length of them tommarow for arguments sake.
In regards to the POR-15, just remember you cant just leave it exposed to the elements (mainly UV) in order for it to prevent rusting it must be topcoated with some form of paint!
I thought SSM only made Mustang length bars? Didn't 83-88tbird guy cut a set up for his 460 TC to correct that?
Exactly my problem now. Mine havent been cut up at all! so thats what leads me to the conclusion that these are NOT southsides. Unless they did make bird specific ones..... i havnt found anything like them yet, but the southsides and lakewoods come the closest.
Well, thats just special. Ive now cracked my battle boxes. It looks like i'm going to have to fab up some reinforcing plates soon......

If I remeber correctly, 83-86 rear control arms were the same as the mustang. 87-88 are longer than the mustang.
