Post by: mommabird on October 28, 2006, 09:17:40 PM
Hi Ya'll
Hope i'm not the only idot on this site.
I have a 1997 cougar has only 50,000 miles on it. When i purchased it i didnt get the owners manual or the remote for the keyless entry also it has anti theft on it but it dosent work either. Took it to the ford house they wanted
one arm and both legs to even check it.
Could one two or all of you guys help this poor old mommabird.
I really love my baby I think it's the anniversary edition
              THANKS

I would think both of those systems run on the same fuse. I would check the fuse box and make sure it is not burned out. You could just take is to your nearest Advance Auto Parts/Auto Zone/Oreilly Auto Parts and just ask them to check the fuse, they will do it for free.

I would also recommend picking up this manual

not a bad price and tons of info on your car.

Good Luck!

best bet is to go to ford and purchase a remote and have it programmed to your car.
