Title: Motorsport front mount intercooler
Post by: turbo83coupe on October 25, 2006, 09:59:51 PM
Here is a shot of my Motorsport front mount intercooler. I rattle canned it to make it look half presentable. Real nice fit! I used a radiator hose for a big truck for the couplers :pbb:  It got the job done for the remainder of the summer until I get nice ones. I should have took some pictures of it off the car, but you all know what one looks like ;)

Very nice!
That almost motivates me to want to install mine.

Did you paint the IC core w/ std spray paint?

Not too good for heat transfer efficiency.

"Two weeks.  He's done all this in two weeks.  But look at how pen 15eyed he works, papa.  He's got brand new windshield wipers...  for a busted windshield."

"Well the boy does have good hands."

"Good hands.  Bad taste in cars."

Actually i've never seen one before.

There were two Motorsport intercooler kits offered, an early one that first appeared in the 1985 catalog and a later one that replaced the early one and first appeared in the 1987 catalog.

The early one didn't have a bypass valve and used clamps to keep the two pipes close together.

The later kit that had a bypass valve and revised piping to fit the different intercooler (this is the Spearco sourced kit).

Ahhh. Thers a fair bit of room to work with in there.

I'm trying to front mount the IC in my sprint, what a nightmare.

you can't se where I cut, from outside the car. I was verry carefull.

He installed an 87-88 IC in the car with the hood if i remember correctly...you know.

I guess i need to get on the ball, so i can have a 2 page IC thread too ;)
