Curious if anyone had any thoughts on how to flair the rear 1/4 panels on our fox cougars and thunderbirds. id like to flair my 1/4 panels out about another 1 1/2 inches to 2 inches. the fronts i figured id get the fiberglass fenders and do it that way.
Also with the front ends... is the lower half the same between tbird and cougar or is it also different. i know the top part of the nose is different between tbird and cougar... just curious if the lower half is the same.

By that, do you mean the bumper?
No.. both the top and lower are different.. if you switch one.. you'll have to switch the other.
ah ok... i was wanting to do a fiberglass nose but i can only find the thunderbird one... and i dont liek the grill the thunderbird has... eh... guess i outta mould the nose on the kitty.
Just out of curiosity, why on God's green earth do you want another 1 1/2" out of the fenders? You can already fit a 315 tire in the ass without even rolling the fender. Do you know how much power it takes to break a 315 loose? I just can't fathom why you'd want to do this. ??
Because it might look neat?
Hell, the IMSA GTO Mustangs were always some of my favorites. A part of me wants to take a '85-86 hatchback and do this with it..

Well I would rather NOT break tires loose. I'd personally rather have traction.
It would take ALOT of wheel and tire to fill up a widened Tbird rear. the front could use a little more, but that could probably be done with some subtle nudging of the existing fender.
im with 46Tbird partially... well maybe a bit more than just partially on apperance. i do want to lower the car a bit.. and having the extra room will be nice rather than tucking 12inch tires... extremely tight..
Up until 1990, Ford Motorsport offered a
"Mustang Fender Flares Kit" to do just that, for '79-'86 Mustangs.
It was part number M-50000-A61.
"...Give your Mustang that competition look you see at IMSA and SCCA road races..."Of course finding one of these kits today would probably be nearly impossible.

OK, but that actually sounds 80's retro cool!
like this?
holy im in love
:pbb: :barf: :shoothead
THAT RIGHT THERE IS FUGLY. Why? Thats a little overboard.
actually yeah its somethin like that HAVI
HAVI, make a mold for us :D :D :D
That's sort of what I have in mind for my car. That way I can put 315's on all 4 corners.
