Title: Rear boot missing on trans

I have changed the trans in my 87 T-Bird.The trans is working fine.But on the rear of the trans(AOD) that rubber boot is missing.Will I have to remove the tail end to replace the rubber boot?
If so I can use the one from the old trans.

Just buy a new one.  It's a seal.  The old one will be dried and could leak.

(At least it is on the manual trans)

New aftermarket seals don't have the extended dust boot,it will be fine without it.
