Not bad for $100. :D
- complete 82K mile shortblock from 1990 Mustang
- TFS Stage II cam - .542/.563 224*/232* 112LSA - new in box
- unused Jeg's gear drive for H.O.
- brand new engine stand
- nice pair E7TE heads from a '94 GT
A friend was losing his garage and needed the engine gone. It was a backup for his EFI/5spd Fairmont; got it for $100 with the stand. Another friend wanted to trade his unused TFS cam for an E303 so he wouldn't have to flycut his pistons. So I located an E-cam from another guy down the road for $80. But when I picked up the shortbock, I was told it had an E in it already. Opened it up, and there it was - I didn't have to buy the $80 one after all. :D Traded for the TFS SII and the guy asked if I knew anyone that wanted a gear drive, he hated them and talked a customer out of running this one. So he threw that in on the deal. :D Same deal with the heads, he had eight full sets so he gave me a nice pair that came off a car he swapped heads on last week. And all the lifters, keys, and spider to go with it.
All I can say is, it pays to show up to a "parts deal" ON TIME and WITH CASH, no lowballing, and no BSing. This guy was just happy to find someone that didn't flake out on a deal.
Oh yeah, the shortblock is NICE. I think I'm going to hone it and put new rings and bearings and run it as-is. Loose is good.
And tonight I'm picking up a set of front 13" Cobra brakes (calipers, brackets, hoses, rotors, '94-95 hubs and spindles) for $200. :)
Pinch me.
I need to find your friends. , what a steal.
Awesome deal.It pays to know people. It feels good doesn't it?I felt that way when I got my Explorer intake, and GT 40 heads for $100.00.I sold the heads for $400.00 and was very pleased with the deal.I found a 100% complete T-Bird Sport for $350.00.It has the floor shifted AOD,8.8,leather interior, full gauges, etc.I'll be getting it as soon as the guy gets the title.I'll part it out because I need the gauges and body for my drivetrain and interior.everything else will find new homes.
Oh yeah, I was stoked.
As for where to get deals, are you guys looking at your local Mustang message boards? All the "stock" Mustang EFI stuff can be had for free, or nearly free, all the time by people cleaning out their garage.
This is a link to one of the best sites going for getting parts in my area (it's where I found all this). No one here wants to ship and sometimes sellers can be flakey, but... http://www.dfwstangs.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=86
What's your plan for that cam?
7000 RPM :D
Man I'm gonna run it...
Do you want to sell any of the E7 heads? I need a set... and I'm in Keller so I could pick em up.
...thats a smoking deal...
I was mistaken, the set I got was '94-95 11.2" GT brakes. The 13" set was $350, so I didn't get them. :dunce:
