alrighty guys, heres another one of my dilemmas.. im not getting any windsheild washing fluid to my windsheild....
i pull the lever back to do it and i get nothing
any faint ideas of what could be wrong?
On the 3.8s, the washer reservoir is stuffed into the driver side fender. The reservoir contains a pump that moves the fluid. To access the reservoir, you need to remove the driver side wheel and spashguard.
So, that being said...
#1 Check the fluid level. Duh. Does the reservoir hold fluid? If not, you’ve got a leak. If it holds fluid…
#2 Check for pump operation. With the car off, it should be loud enough to hear. If it is pumping w/o any output...suspect a clogged line. If it isn't pumping...
#3 Check for voltage at the pump. Check for 12V at the connector while pulling back on the stalk. (2 person job). If you get voltage...you probably have a bad pump. If you don't get any voltage...
#4 Check fuses and wiring for the culprit.
i replaced all the fuses...
so im guessin i have either a clogged line or a bad motor correct?
Most likely...
Visio FTW!
Nice, one picture is worth 1000 words.
I make some flow charts at work, never thought about here though.
Both nozzles on my '86 were almost completely clogged. I could hear the pump working, but the fluid would creep out.
I removed the nozzles and blew them out with compressed air. It's like a brand-new system with a full spray pattern.
Try it.
I don't even know if my washer works. I haven't used it in three years. I just used the wipers for the first time in two years this past July. Can you tell I don't usually drive the bird in the rain?
