Title: Molded Hood Insulation
Post by: Cougar5.0 on October 16, 2006, 02:37:20 PM
Anybody have any idea if there is any way to get molded hood insulation for our cars? I got a die-cut fiberglass replacement piece in there now, but it isn't the best-looking thing ever made. :grinno:

I don't know of a pre cut to fit piece. But Dyna Mat makes som nice stuff that is sticky backed so you can just cut it and stick it on. You'll need a roller that is hard to get it to stick real good. It is basicly there sound deadner with foil on one side. I have seen many people do it this way. So head to the local stereo shop and ask about it. Hope that helps you out.

+1 on Second Skin Audio

They have a product called Motor Mat which is designed for use in the engine bay.
