hey i got a 88 t bird with a full digital dash that orginally had a v6 engine and i swapped in a 5.0 in it. my question is, can i and is it easy to put in a v8 anolog cluster instead of having teh digital one?? what will i need to do ???
You'll need the fuel sender, water temp sender and oil pressure sender from a car without digital. The good news is that you can get the fuel and water sender from any T-Bird/Cougar with a base cluster. The oil sender can be obtained from a Mustang or just about any Ford with an buttstuffogue oil gauge. You'll need an adapter to fit the oil sender though - otherwise it'll get in the way of the filter.
Other than that you should just have to repin the harness since the disco dash should already have all the required inputs (tach, etc).

ok cool but since my 5.0 which had anolog before has all the senders and such what else would i need to do to connect it. fo rinstance splice wires?? or just plug and play?? thats what im confused with .
Click on the link I provided above and it'll show you the wires you need to swap around. It isn't plug and play by any means.
If the 5.0 has the proper oil, water and temp senders you'll still need the fuel sender (in the tank)
ok gotcha thanks man
i got anotehr question wats the fuel sender in teh tank?? is it the float??? if not wat does it look like? also were is the water sender located????
It's a float. It has a flat round panel on the top that holds it into the tank.
and were is the water sender located?
Water temp sender is on the top of the intake manifold in the front driver's side corner. It screws downward into the manifold.
could i stil buy the float for the gas tank for tach cluster?? do they sell that? also the float is the fuel sender correct?
I'm pretty sure some places still carry the fuel senders for an '87-'88.
The '88 V6 (not the full electric cluster, but base cluster) unit may work as well...if so, I've got one here somewhere..I've no use for it.
Need to look it up though, and see if the part numbers are the same, as I don't have any V8 fuel stuff here anymore. Seems to me they'd work, as I put the Sport buttstuffogue in my '88 V6 this past summer, and fuel gauge works still.
this link doesn't seem to work is there another one I can check

Thanks
Now I've been wondering if its possible to switch from a standered gauge to a digitall gauge in an 88 TC I have a digital gauge cluster that was originally going in my dads 86 but can it be swaped into my 88?
