looking 4 a set of cheap clear headlights for my 88 T/C
thx
have you tried clearing up your lenses?
I have the same problem as mentioned, what can you clean them with?
they are fogged from the inside..I was going to cut them inhalf and clean them and then epoxy them
$130 on ebay for the set.
Do you still need headlights? Here are a couple from my parts car:
Let me know what you think or I'll put them on Ebay.....Joe
i got mine on ebay..$130 for the pair. best $130 i ever spent...i can actually see where i am going now!
I bought my lights seperatly off of ebay, i think i paid about $130 all together, but my driver side stil get mousture in it >:(
I've heard (haven'ttried myself, I ebayed a set for myself) but the grime is on the outside. Supposedly if you hit the outside of the lens with a buffer they will clear up. Probably a mild or light compound.
problem is I don't have 130 to put in this car
FORDNUT..how much you asking
Go to your local Auto parts store and buy some Mother's Plastic Polish. Put a little buffing wheel on a cordless drill and they will shine right up!
My bf just used it on his winter beater and they look great now.
Most of the time it's stained on the inside, ive actually never seen one ONLY on the out side. Moisture coming in from the seal just kills it.
I'm not saying that they will be exactly like new after buffing them, but the yellowing is 90% or better the cause of road grime and things of that nature being baked on for so many years. Even when moisture gets on the inside of the lens it doesn't normally have enough dirt to make a humongous difference like the outside gets. Water in general doesn't "yellow" a lens.
It's just some advice I've heard, I can't say that it is a perfect plan but it does make the headlights useable again and is much cheaper than buying a new set. I bought a new set since my lenses actually fell off and I found new ones as cheap as some of the bone yards around here wanted.
You can find head lights anywhere for cheap but they'll be cruddy. :shakeass:
I buff'd then..thier clouded from the inside....
You can use a product call plastix or use some 000 or 0000 steelwool to get the nasty off then coat them with tire wet makes them look NEW. Steel wool and tire wet cost about $8.00 then just a little work
vfast, Do you still need a set of headlights? These are in pretty good shape.....
