Post by: 32VFoxBird on September 23, 2006, 08:50:51 PM
how do you get it to sit flat in the trunk when there is a big hump in the floor?

i bought a 12 gal Jaz plastic fuel cell with a 2" rear sump. if that helps.

cut out the floor and weld in a flat piece or shim up the low sides

ive thought of that, but..... shimming one side would not allow the fittings to go underneath the floor for the sump. and cutting out the "hump" would lose the rigidity of the floor. or would this not affect it?

If you weld in a flat piece you shouldnt loose much, get it bead rolled or tack on a couple strips of 1/4" angle iron if you are worrried
