Title: Driving tunes...
Post by: 84 Fila on September 23, 2006, 07:07:47 PM
I have proven that I drive better with the right music in the car. The problem is I don't know what I like. I Like rock / Rock rap things like Metallica and Linkin park, Limp Bizkit.... But Whiskey in a jar and In The End gets old fast. So I need a list of songs to listen to. Any idea's? Anythng is open, and I am willing to go outside the box on this one. I need the best driving music CD ever.

lol, true punk isn't really greenday, athough they're heavily inspired by it..
The Misfits
The ed
The New York Dolls
The Ramones
and on and on
I've got about..ohhh, about 3700 songs right now...i gotta be in the right mood for certain songs..and not knockin the 80's (or '70s stuff) but some of this new music is really good.
Guns N Roses, Motley Crue, Creed, Puddle Of Mudd, and some of the mid '80s Hank Jr  songs are among my faves.
I've probably got 100 songs for every mood a person can be in.
and try some Tesla too...they got some good songs..

This is why I rarely discuss music anymore.. always have to be people out there who sit there and say such and such isn't "true" or "real" whatever in the most judgemental and superior tone they can muster. Who cares, as long as you like what you're listening to? Listen to what you want to listen to, when where and why you want to listen to it, and those who don't like it.

The above statement is rendered null and void, however, if I'm in my car with the windows up, the A/C on max, and the stereo respectably loud (inside the car, not outside it) and I still hear your boom-boom-boom shiznit coming through my Lincoln's sound deadening as if a monkey was sitting in the backseat banging on 55 gallon drums. Or if it's 2:45 AM and I'm having a hard time trying to get to sleep and your boom-boom-boom shiznit is running randomly around my neighborhood. Then I'll probably render a negative opinion on your listening habits and expect you to do something about it.. or the cops will. :p I can understand wanting a bit louder music, but it gets ridiculous fast.

You know, five lines into that post, I figured no one would read most of that shiznit.. :p

I make enough long posts that few people have the stomach to read all the way through, I think I'm just going to start tossing in random stuff for fun.

I read through the entire list, as most of it made sense to me. I'm the kind of person who hates most modern music, especially the rock-rap mainstream garbage. I suppose I'm narrow-minded.

I saw you mentioned Primus in your post. "Tommy the Cat" is probably my favorite from them. Did you ever listen to any Oysterhead? Claypool is a badass.
