I'm trying to restore the EGR vacuum hose on a 1987 t-bird 3.8L that I bought a couple of months ago. Previous owner just took the hoses off. I'm having a difficult time figuring out the diagram. I cannot find what is the 'V REST' and the 'PURGE CV' It looks like a hose should be going from the PVC valve, to the 'V REST' to the PURGE CV. Help anyone?
V REST- Vacuum Restrictor
PURGE CV- Purge control valve
The vacuum line that opens the EGR valve also opens the Purge CV.
So at the same time you are recycling exhaust gas you are also purging the carbon canister.
The vacuum hose to the PCV valve also goes through a V REST to the the PURGE CV to suck the fumes out of the carbon canister.
The PCV Valve should have two hoses on it.
thank you. Where can i buy a vacuum restrictor do you think?

Don't know where you can buy a restrictor. Are you sure it is gone.
There is a color code for the restrictor hole size. In my '84 T-Bird it is blue.
The shop manual says this is a .015" hole.
I would try a dealer. It can't be very expensive.
thank you for the photos. that is exactly what I needed.
