Filter tray? The airbox is in the same location as a 5.0 car. The scoops on the TC hood are meant to feed air directly into the intercooler, not to the airbox.

it's more of a looks hood on nonturbo cars. and probably not worth your time to make it functional.

If I decide to go carbed with my 351 I'll be making the scoops functional, but that would be easy because the carb and air intake are right there behind the scoops. Trying to fab it up to EFI would probably result in so many bends and curves in the intake tract that you'd be losing airflow, not gaining it.

i still want to try, ididnt know that it was for the intercooler, i never understood how it worked till now. always wondered how the birds got to fed air from the hood and not the cats but now i see neither did.

There is no real tray for the intercooler, the intercooler sits right under the air ducts in the hood.

I always thought of doing that but my car is mass air but if your still speed density maybe put a cone filter right off the TB and leave all the duct work alone on the TC hood just fab up a heat deflector underneath buy the exhaust.

check out cirvinies (spelling)  ram air hoods. thats probley the direction you'll want to go with the ducting. you just have to be carful about clearance under the hood. would work alot better with a 1 or 2" cowl.

Why not use a flat filter to mate to the hood the all you need would be a way to hold it and funnel that air into the throttle body.  shouldn't be to hard. Get the messurement of the hood opening and see if you can find a filter that size. Then start the fab process. Make a tray that looks kinda like a rectangle cake pan then you just need a hole in the bottom side with a tube type outlet. You'll need some way to hold it in place. Also it should be tilted with the rear part up higher than the front part. I bet it would work nicely just remeber that those little hood vent like to let water in. That would get your filter wet. Might want to make a drain hole in the plastic part so the water will drain out before the filter.

The biggest thing to look at is how are you going to get the ducting around the distributer? I look in my scoops and thats all I see.

It will still suck water in....

Not a good idea....
