I took the cougar out of the garage to take some pics with natural sunlight. plus I think the snow added a good contrast to a black car.
another view
and the classic rear angle shot that everyone does :grinno:
Man, that makes me take back ALL the things I said about Cobra R's being overdone. They look SICK on that car!
Glad to see my wheels being put to good use! :) :giggle:
i cant stand spoke rims evry one has them but you know Alex on that car they look pretty sweet
Exactly why I used to dislike R's so badly.
those were my thoughts exactly.. in fact i've been looking at different rims for the XR-7. this purchase was meant for my silver GS.. but since that's covered in snow right now (i know its a shame) i decided to put it on the XR7 temporairly and absolutely loved the results.
I still think they are overdone. :(
Put the 10holes back on!
Not sure about the wheels myself (not a big fan of chrome), but that is one CLEAN XR-7.
Man, that's a nice looking car (rims and everything)! I'm jealous now!
Keep her looking like that, she looks great. Not overdone IMHO, looks perfect. Snow adds a great touch in the pic too.
Looks good alex, now if only you knew how to drive it! LOL :fingers:
With great power.. comes great responsibility my man.. Before i can get behind the wheel.. i must first feel it in my heart. and my heart's telling me.. "if you let this car out in the winter.. you're a dumbass!"
..and yes. so what if i can't drive stick.. at least i now have a cougar that has it LOL :flip:
now you know how i feel about your car LOL
yea nice wheels and kick ass car. Definately the cleanest car Ive ever seen sitting on SNOW.
Very nice car!
wow! that is one sweet looking Cougar!!!! i'm not a fan of chrome myself (or Cobra R's... except for the fact that you can get them in many different widths. *shakefist* curse you Cobra R's!!!) but they look fantastic on your car. I wouldn't change a thing. except... maybe ride height. heh. ^_^
Thats a shagy XR-7 lol :)
Theres something about that particular car and those wheeles :headbang: Nice!
Now if it was just lowered a lil bit :nutkick:
Thanks for all the complements guys! it's greatly appreciated.
hell, I think they look great! If you ever want to sell them, let me know!
It's hard to make a black car look good since black magnifies every imperfection ten fold, but that one looks great, good job to whoever did the prep work for that paint. I can't dis the Cobra Rs since I had a set on one of my Mark VIIs about five years ago, as long as you like em on there.
I got the car looking exactly like that (well minus the rims of course). And the previous owner told me that the paint job is about 10 years old. So I say hats off also to the previous owner for keepin' her looking like this. I just hope I can continue to do so.
Man that car looks good... makes me miss my old '86 even more.
Paint the grille and headlight buckets! :D
That thought has crossed my mind.. but the headlight buckets tie in the grey bottom half of the car, and the grille now ties in with the Cobra's so all in all I think leaving it alone works for the car.
This was my 85 cougar after I rolled it 5 times. hood scoop's ripped off
Holy resurected thread Batman!
for reals. I might as well just say it,.....
*BUMP*
Ttt!!
Well since This has been brought back from the dead i'll let everyone know that the cougar doesn't have the Cobra's now
It's getting Bullit wheels. as well as a Kamei GFX kit.
Now
THAT hasn't been done before...
Yep it's been done about as much times as your rear end. (and I don't mean the Convertible's) ;)
Shhh...you're not supposed to tell our secret out here in the open. And besides...you told me you liked to be the catcher...
Yeah, in a game of baseball, you fruitcake
Wait...you know about baseball in your country? ;)
And I'll pass on the fruitcake...never liked it...
and let that be a lesson to all those who were going go to catjam bearing gifts of fruitcake to Eric.
but with that siad.. back to topic.. Yes I know bullit's have been done. but not as much as cobras.
Also, the Bullit's cost me my other cougar, so they are staying to honour the ol' GS.
Don't worry Alex. The memory of the '84 will be kept alive. Just not quite sure how I am going to go about it yet. That's probably the main reason I havn't started to go at it with the sawzall yet. Still sitting in the driveway, practically untouched. :(
(did a nice Burnout with it the other day  Decent power for a 3.8L!)

hey baxo what size are those wheels and specifically tires? i like the way that car sits
17 x 8 front
and 17 x 9 out back
and tires are 245/45/R17
All this talk about wheels still has me puzzled on what to do with my Cougar. I'm wanting to put a new set of wheels on her before CJ '06, but I just don't know what to do.
I'm thinking about simply putting a set of ponies on her.
I think the ponies would look pretty cool on your cat.. white? chrome?
:rollin: :D :giggle: :rollin: :hick:
I agree with Alex. Ponies would look good on your Cat Derik
Wait Derik your getting rid of the rims you have? Those are awesome, willing to sell em?
I'll probably sell 'em once I find a new set...
