Title: 85 XR-7 with cobra R's
Post by: baxo on December 29, 2004, 03:40:01 PM
I took the cougar out of the garage to take some pics with natural sunlight. plus I think the snow added a good contrast to a black car.

Exactly why I used to dislike R's so badly.

those were my thoughts exactly.. in fact i've been looking at different rims for the XR-7. this purchase was meant for my silver GS.. but since that's covered in snow right now (i know its a shame) i decided to put it on the XR7 temporairly and absolutely loved the results.

Keep her looking like that, she looks great. Not overdone IMHO, looks perfect. Snow adds a great touch in the pic too.

With great power.. comes great responsibility my man.. Before i can get behind the wheel.. i must first feel it in my heart. and my heart's telling me.. "if you let this car out in the winter.. you're a dumbass!"

..and yes. so what if i can't drive stick.. at least i now have a cougar that has it LOL  :flip:

It's hard to make a black car look good since black magnifies every imperfection ten fold, but that one looks great, good job to whoever did the prep work for that  paint. I can't dis the Cobra Rs since I had a set on one of my Mark VIIs about five years ago, as long as you like em on there.

I got the car looking exactly like that (well minus the rims of course). And the previous owner told me that the paint job is about 10 years old. So I say hats off also to the previous owner for keepin' her looking like this. I just hope I can continue to do so.

That thought has crossed my mind.. but the headlight buckets tie in the grey bottom half of the car, and the grille now ties in with the Cobra's so all in all I think leaving it alone works for the car.

but with that siad.. back to topic.. Yes I know bullit's have been done. but not as much as cobras.
Also, the Bullit's cost me my other cougar, so they are staying to honour the ol' GS.

Don't worry Alex.  The memory of the '84 will be kept alive.  Just not quite sure how I am going to go about it yet.  That's probably the main reason I havn't started to go at it with the sawzall yet.  Still sitting in the driveway, practically untouched. :(
(did a nice Burnout with it the other day   Decent power for a 3.8L!)

All this talk about wheels still has me puzzled on what to do with my Cougar. I'm wanting to put a new set of wheels on her before CJ '06, but I just don't know what to do.

I'm thinking about simply putting a set of ponies on her.

I think the ponies would look pretty cool on your cat.. white? chrome?
