The Official Dates™:
July 27-29, 2007
This is back one week from previous years. Why? The Cougar Club of America (CCOA) are holding their national show in Denver, CO the weekend we would normally have our show. Although I really don't think there would be too much of an issue, I didn't want our show to overlap with the national club's show. So that's why. Besides, it gives everyone an extra week to get things done. ;)
Cool beans!
Now I can reserve a room! LOL
And so the Cat Jam jonesing begins....
Well.. with this extra week AND advanced warning.. people have no excuse not to make it.. So I expect to see everyone there!
only two things is keeping me from going, one being no job, the other being death. So if neither of those happens I will be there!
That and I need to vist another state other than minessota.
Daniel
I am working on a group rate at RRI...I'll get details up ASAP.
This year I shoot myself in the head if I dont go. Not really. But I'll be making plans for a surprise this year.
I plan to have the '86 looking like it rolled off the showroom floor by next summer.
I need money.
Me and the Fila will be there for sure next year.
You talking to someone in particular? :grinno: :shakeass:
Cool. That would be nice. I hope they cut us something.
Thanks for the news Eric. See you there.
No reason I can think of for me not to be there.
I hope they cut us a deal too Victor.... so far, I don't like the price they e-mailed to me. However, I am going to call and talk to them personally and see what I can persuade them to do for us.....you know...this will be our 4th year there, and we do rent a lot of rooms.
I'll put a Red Roof Inn sticker on my window if they'll give us a good deal! ;)
i hope to bring out my car next year, unless im a looser again and bring the jeep lol...
Sweet, I dont have to work that day and i hope i can bring my car.
maybe u can do something with that fancy neon system u have lol.
Hey, if it will get a good deal on room rates......;)
(btw, they're LED, not neon :D )
opps sorry kevin my bad. hahahha
I doubt I'll have my car ready by then. New engine, tranny, suspension, and gfx kit on and paint? I only can hope I win the lottery. I'll just have to work more and spend less.
You're redoing the paint???!!!
I love the color you got now!
Unless you meant painting the gfx to match. :grinno:
Shannon:
That's ok, I'll let it go this time. hehe
geez thanks lmao
anybody wanna get a group together to travel down with?
cause flying solo sucks somtimes..
up in northern Indiana... the fortwayne area
I'd go........but college sucks and keeps eating all my money.
id make it to cj even if i had to hitch hick..any 1 going my way?lol
Where are you at?
minnesota
Gee Steve, you're starting to sound like me :rollin:
I hope to be there. College and bills are killing me but if'n I can get the white cat done (lots of stuff planned) or the black cat done (again lots planned but not as much as the white one) I will be there.
Put it this way, as long as ONE of my cars is drivable and nobody in my family dies this year, I'll be there... that sounded horrible didn't it? :pbb:
I'm gonna forget who everybody is by next year!
And if I'm lucky maybe my car will be a little prettier...but no promises there, it's getting rough these days (needs a paint job somethin' fierce)
I hope to make it down next year!
So far it has been a new home and job (2002), a family camping trip (2003 & 2004), out of town training for work (2005) and my wife's treatment for a liver disease this year. She will be done with the treatment by then, so I hope I can get her to agree to run away from three teens in the house for a weekend :D
If i do show up its most likley going to be in my 01 as the 87 wont be up to snuff till i pay the 01 off. I am also trying to switch jobs and the new job may force me to work saturday.
thats two 01's that are going,,,the wife didnt want to be the only new cougar to show up,,,,thanks-tell the new boss you have a wedding planed for that weekend , that allways works, besides its8 months notice.
i plan to attend CJ07. will be my first time, so go easy on me!
if i dont have my car ready by then, there is no hope of it ever being ready....
if i still own the t-bird i will be there. any one want to run from utah with me??
thats a really long run! why don't you drive instead ;)

if you take the trip i'll tell you what i'll buy you well you know  :drink: :deal: :headbang: :D
Beer & cigarettes? :grinno:
Well that trip sounds like mine. If we do get to go, we'll be driving from Albuquerque, NM (actually we moved to Moriarty, but where is that?). Maybe we could hook up with Royce and head up. I'd be bringing our 15 passenger van with the Cougar on a trailer.
Hey guy's Been awhile since I've been over here. I will definetly be there this year. I'm still trying to get the car running right though. Might end up towing it down incase something break's while im out there for the weekend I'll have to see how it runs after I figure out what the problem is tonight.
before I forget anybody coming from Canada or MI or Northern Ohio want's to meet up and caravan there let me know im coming from southeast MI. Im gonna try and leave as early as possible Friday morning and take my time getting there, seeing as I will probably be towing the car there.
Angel, any more word on this?
I'm wanting to get my room reserved here soon. If not, I guess I can go ahead and reserve one, then if a better deal comes up, I can cancel that one and get the better rate one? ;)
I usually leave Friday morning, so if any of you want to meet and caravan, I'd be up for it.
I'm in Findlay, so BlackJack, you could take US30 to I-75N (or US30 to US224), D, you could take I-75S and Shannon, I know you usually take the $$road, so you could hop off onto US23/I-475S to I-75S in Toledo.
From Findlay it's a straight shot to Y-town on US224. It's two lane most of the way, and we'd go through a few little towns, but the trip really isn't that bad and D, you said you weren't in a hurry anyway.
If it's something y'all might be interested in, lemme know. There's a few choices for places to meet, and depending on the time, a great selection of places to eat right off the Interstate, or right on 224 before leaving town.
as long as the road's are easy to drive on. I can meet up with ya anywhere. I never towed anything before let alone my car, so I just want to be careful.
D, the roads aren't too bad. It's two lane most of the way, and there are some hills and a few turns, but I don't recall it being too bad.
On another note, I was just checking for rooms at RRI. I checked RRI's site, Travelocity, Hotels.com, Expedia and Hotwire. They all had the same price for RRI which was $89.99/night. Has anyone found a lower price than this for that weekend? If so, where?
I still hope to be coming this year. Gotta work out some bugs with the engine tho first. My Dad is hoping that he can make it too. He had his foot amputated a month or two ago and is working on being able to get around again. Hopefully by summer he'll be up and going.
I noticed the price was really high too and checked those and other sites. Wasn't it only like $70 a couple years ago?
I don't know about a couple years ago (stayed at MicroTel that year), but I just looked up last year's reciept and it was $79.99.
Next year im gonna be there, and hopefully I can drag my dad along so at least we will be bringing the bird, cause ill be in my stang, cause then ill have my lisence, any where to run the cars there? id love to race some of you guys(no street racing though)
nope theres no where to race.that i know of anyway.car show thou.
Quaker City Dragstrip, Salem Ohio. It's about 15 min's from youngstown.
ooo thats what i was looking for, i know theres the show, i told my dad tonight next year we ARE going, and hes bring his silver t/c, and ill bring my stang. Id love to meet everyone, so i can't wait, just hope i get the car done in time, or possibly the ranger, my dad gave me the go ahead if i get the truck, i can have the 2.3
I'll probaly run my bike and the Fila if we all go racing. Should we try to rent the track out for a day, or just mob it if we go?
Um, you have to make plans
months in advance if you're going to rent the track for a day. You can't just "swing by" the track because they have other events going on. Now I don't know if it will be like this in '07, but in years past Test-n-Tune was on Friday nights. Last year it was $10/head to run all night (average 2-3 runs tops). The track has been for sale for many years, though, and from what I understand it may have just recently been sold. The only commitment they have this year is to the Super Nationals. Everything else is said to be up in the air.
So until there are better details about what's going on at Quaker City in '07, we can't really make any plans for it.
http://www.quakercityraceway.com/
The only thing I see is bracket racing for the nights of CJ. Should we consider this part of the fun or mearly an idea?
I think that would be awesome, race each other have some good fun doing it. Just for fun, just to see what each others cars can do.
but do it for 08' so i can go lol
how about we pick an all you can eat buffet somewhere, then each person/family is responsible for their own food and money. it will be real easy for the wait staff....only having to do refills and such. also less stress for eric. just a thought. i hope to be there this year. been trying for the last 2 years now to go. but the bird just isn't reading yet.......but still working every weekend on it. :birdsmily: :birdsmily:
About the racing bit... I know there is no way I would drive 6 hours to get there and go racing. If my car broke, I'd be pretty much stranded.
I'm sure others feel this way too.
If there was large enough interest and a bundle of us would be racing, I would certainly spectate but that's it.
:iagree: what he said
ill drive that far if it breaks theres enough car nuts to fix her up
And spare parts cars/parts/willing people. Just remember, if yuo break it, you can improve it when ya fix it
Not everyone has a race worthy car, and I've only seen 1 drag helmet at Cat Jam. And that one was on Cougar King's head flying past me at 110 mph on I-80.
My idea is for go karts on the night we don't have a "formal" dinner. If we do the Angels for Animals on Friday, and if people are on their own on Saturday for dinner, I'd be willing to go to the kart place around the corner and embarass a few people.
im with him.if the go karts break i still have a way to get home.lol cheaper that way.hahahahaha
i understand what everyones saying, go carts sounds fun, you think ull embarrass people, im 16, what do you think ive been driving till now. I see that working out better.
Go Carts!!!!!!!!
If there is nothing planned for Sunday, maybe before everyone leaves would be the ideal time to ride the Go Karts.
go karts sound fun!
i was just looking on line and the cost of the room at the rats roof is 89.99.... it was like $75 last year.... do they usually offer a better rate closer or is this just it? or do you know any deals to put in ;)... i'm wondering if it costs more because it's the last weekend of july instead of the 2nd to last..... closer to school getting back in maybe? i dunno, just a thought
I think you're right. I just checked for the weekend before CJ and the rates were $67-$80.
Don't know why the big jump though.
It's sort of funny because when I drove past the Red Roof the other day the rate on the sign was like $39.00 Just goes to show you how they raise the rates during vacation season. Or, in our case, car show season.
Oh, also drove past Quaker City the other day and it looked like someone had plowed snow in some of the lots there, but I can't imagine what for. Thier site says they're closing it & it looks like it will end up another industrial park. I know the CJ 'Track Day' idea never would've happened anyway, but it does make me a bit sad that I don't have a track in my back yard anymore. It used to be that from outside my house you could hear the cars running up at QC on clear summer nights.
Yep, Quaker City Raceway is now history. No drag race for you!
http://www.quakercityraceway.com
It's been all over the news for about the past week. The owner couldn't come to terms with any potential buyers...but as usual there was politics involved and another side to the story too. It was a nice track though...infamous for being about .2 too slow but otherwise was a nice facility. Such a shame.
OK, I got the tour finalized on Friday night. We'll be going from Red Roof to Angels For Animals location. I'll have a map on the website that you can download, and also we'll have hardcopies at Red Roof on Friday night.
The tour @ Angels starts at 7:00 pm. This will be public viewing hours but that's alright, nobody will bug us. The tour will last for approximately 30 minutes and will be hosted by Diane Less-Baird, who was the speaker last year at the pavilion. After the tour we can stay and mingle, look at the kitties and puppies, etc. They also have a very large pet store in the facility.
Diane also said that she saw our brick (from our donation last year) and it is WAY cool. Might be a good for a photo opportunity around it. ;)
So right now, the whole game plan looks like this:
FRIDAY, JULY 27
6:30 pm: Leave from RRI for Angels' facility.
7:00 pm - ?: Tour @ Angels, then head back to hotel.
SATURDAY, JULY 28
10:30 am: Leave RRI for Mill Creek Park, Youngstown.
11:00 am - ~4:00 pm: Picnic @ Slippery Rock Pavilion.
NEW INFO >>2:00 pm - 3:00 pm: Tour of Fellowship Riverside Gardens within Mill Creek Park, for those interested
4:30 pm: Leave for Chili's, Southern Park Mall, Boardman.
5:00 pm - 9:00 pm: Car show @ Chili's.
9:00 pm-?: If sunny, back to RRI parking lot for pizza. If rainy, TGI Friday's or Applebee's for dinner.
SUNDAY, JULY 29
11:00 am: I will be @ RRI lot to collect digital photos.
12:00 noon - ?: Go-Karts!!!
Plans are, as always, subject to change. But I think this is a pretty solid game plan. As we get closer to the event there is usually a little tweaking so stay tuned for updates.
Thanks everyone! I hope you can make it this year.
im pushing to go so we will see! how much are the rooms?
I can't wait guys. Only about 4 more months!
Hotel info in this thread: http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?t=12677
And on the site here: http://www.coolcats.net/catjam/hotelinfo.html
Is there anything I can do to help set up or help out in any way?
thanks for the info
Eric, I'll be there this year for sure. Hopefully in ma ThUndabURD! Last year I was jobless and poor. This year I'm the extreme opposite.
sounds good eric
I just arranged for a small tour (10-12 people) on the Saturday of CJ07 for Fellows Riverside Gardens (http://"http://www.millcreekmetroparks.com/riversidegarden.htm"), which isn't that far away from our pavilion at Mill Creek Park. It's our most famous area around here for wedding photos and nature hikes because it is literally an oasis within the city. It's famous for the rose gardens sprinkled throughout that area. Truly a beautiful place. (For those that went on a brief tour the Friday evening of CJ05, that's where the tour will be).
There is no cost or obligation for the tour. You do not have to go. However, if you would like to take the tour, please let me know because if we exceed 12 people in the group, the park needs to bring in another tour guide and I'll need to let them know that.
The tour will be Saturday, July 28 from 2:00-3:00pm. My guess is that we'd need to meet up at the garden for the tour. I will be getting info in the mail closer to CJ07 and will post any relevant information when I receive it.
Also, if you haven't seen the info yet, pre-registration for CJ07 is now open: http://www.coolcats.net/catjam/register.html
Yes, I want to go tour that again! It's beautiful there!
I'm not sure if Roger will go see it again or not, but at least me and Keely and Ashley.
Eric, tina and i would like to go to the gardens, so pencil us in ;)
Sam, her bf & Myself are in for the tour
I went to the rose garden, it was nice.
OK, the final CJ07 itinerary has been posted:
http://www.coolcats.net/catjam/itinerary.html
We're about 4 weeks away; everything has been secured for the park, Angels for Animals, and Chili's. The only things left for me are to get the shirts done (working on those now), and get the food which will be closer to the show dates. Karen, Greg and Ric have been working on the Chinese auction stuff. Everyone's going to be really thrilled with the selection this year...they've really been working hard to get things done right.
Further updates as events warrant. :)
Tee helped me with shopping too. (Thanks Tee!)
I have a few more things to pick up, I'm sure everyone will be pleasantly surprised.
Oh pewp... the time of the jam is upon us. I've gotta start getting ready! I'd be all over going to the rose garden again.
Final CJ07 logo:
I think I need that shirt. I'll have to get with you about it when I know more on my situation. Great job Eric, and very, very nice touch man.;)
Amazing work man. I'll deffinatly take a shirt. And for the record, the Fila will NOT be at CJ this year, but can be seen at my house maybe 15 min's from CJ if anyone if up for a short feild trip.
That logo is beautiful.
Good work, Eric.
(I was kind thinking in the back of my mind you would be considering some sort of tribute for Jessie.)
I just (finally!) registered for the Jam, and I definitely included one of the shirts.
Excellent job Eric! Thank you for the time you put it in designing it and making it a reality.
BTW, what color shirts will that be going on? Really dark blue or black would be cool (like Jessie's paint).
The shirts will be khaki, similar to what's in the picture. I know that's maybe not the most desirable color, but...that was the color of Jessie's car's interior. Thought with the ink colors, that would be most appropriate, plus khaki looks good on most people.
That's cool! Didn't think of that. Nice touch!
Hey Eric, are you sending one to Jessie's wife? I think that would be a nice gesture, along with a CJ CD.
....just a thought.
Will she be at CJ this year? If not I agree with the sending her a shirt and CD
My fiance wants to go to the Rose Garden. So add us to the list. :)
I'm trying to decide if I really wanna go or not...
I had already sent Debbie the CJ06 DVD last year. Honestly I haven't heard from her since. I'm trying to get in touch with her, actually...e-mails are not getting any response. If someone has her phone number please PM it to me.
She'll be getting a few shirts too...already in the works.
I haven't heard from her either. If you contact her let me know so I can send her a calendar. Or I could just bring one with me to CatJam.
well yet again i will miss it. its on my birthday this year too. that would have been awesome. start saving for next year...
Two weeks away! Who's ready?
*keeps hand down* ;)
* Bows head in shame and also keeps hand down*
starts to raise hand, then rethinks it.......nope, not yet
I'm ready! The Cat still needs a little work, though, that I hope gets done before then.
Tc Should Be Ready For The Long Trip She Is At My Buddys Shop Geting New Rear Shoes Wheel Cylders ,rear End Service ,new Proportioning Valve, repack The Front Bearings, oil Change ,and A Tranny Service ,,but They Still Cant Get Fluid To The Rear Brakes ...all I Can Say Is They Better Hurry...
I'd have to say I'm not ready. I have three wheels and no brakes.
Well Eric as you probably notice I registered! Now I'm not sure about the car situation as one is leaving me when I leave Cat Jam. If I have my 88 back together by then I'll be alright.
I am not ready, Hell, It'll be a miracle if i'm ready for Cat Jam 08.. but that's not stopping me from going!
(Raises hand and and jumps up and down.)Ooo! Ooo! Me! Me! Got Xena all "fixed up" for the trip:
- new tires (Bridgestone Turanza LS-H...on clearance for 50% off - Yea!)
- new shocks/struts (replacing the 10 yr. old originals)
- fresh "lifetime" alignment
- new window tinting all around (old stuff had faded/started to tear & peel on passenger window)
- changed oil & filter
Now...I DO still need to get going on the cleaning...She is very dirty...Nevermind, I guess I'm not really ready...
(Sits back down and slumps low in desk.)
I already did the Macguiars 3 stage on my car, gotta do a little more. Right now it is sleeping under its cover, I'm probably going to bring it to Firestone next week to get the fuel system cleaning thing they do. Transmission flush will happen after Cat Jam.
LMAO @ Royce.
You make me smile.
One more week!
(And still not ready LOL)
How are y'all doing? Ready yet? Any issues?
Actually now that you mention it, I've been having this sharp pain in my spleen....
Nah, but I do have to gets to registering. As long as I don't catch some mexican influenza again like last year, I should be there.
Issues??? Why in the world would I have issues??? :p
haha :raspberry
mine really does... and so does the bottom of my feet,my knees, and my neck... :( infact my spleen is 30cm wide = about 10 inchs and in about 3 inchs thick...
Don't make me get out the list:hick:
Issues? AAARGH!!!!
My cruise control AND blinkers just took a dump :toilet: on me TODAY driving around Houston...
Weird, Weird symptoms...
About to go post up/beg for help over in Electrical, and also over at the TCCoA forums, as this has happened on the '97.
How's that for issues?
Just money issues. Meaning chances are I may not be there.
ummmm, the a/c compressor is shot (new one in a box in the dining room), my tie rod ends are going, going, not quite gone, the dash is in 4 pieces and the fan clutch doesn't work........ other than that, it's all gravy :)
i did however fix my acceleration stumble.... ignition coil :)
Hey all, I havent been around in a long time, but i will be at CJ. I will be in Macon, GA thursday night and heading north for boardman as soon as i get something there. Im looking for someone to meet up with if possible? Im pretty sure ill be passing up through Charlotte and near pitt on my way up... mapquest says thats quickest. Im planning to drive up past charlotte thursday night if possible.
I'll be there every day if I can. The car will not be tehre but be on display as a work in progress durring CJ. If anyone wants to see if feel free to stop by,lol. Mark my words, next year I will be at CJ, in the car, and it WILL be finished
i'm leaving columbia around midnight..... and should be in charlotte at about 1:30 or 2am if you're still around
haha, you gotta be kididng me. first i couldnt go...then i found a way im alowed to, and that only if my friend went. then then i found out not too long ago he cant get off work, now i cant go. AND THEN SOME jagoff RAN INTO ME! so now both fenders are screwed up along with my door(still runs fine and im fine, thank god). and now theres about one in a billion chance i can go still...but i wouldnt count on it.
so you're saying things are just ok :hick:
With my luck I will still be working on it durring CJ or right up to, but I live about 15 min's from where CJ is held. The car will bere the whole time. I shouldn't say on display more sitting outside where you can see it. On display makes it sound important
no doubt :hick: ... i didn't know you lived that close..... time is ticking.....
Yep, about 17 miles from CJ. If I'm not at CJ then I'll be here at the house screwin around with the car. I don't wana draw away from catjam but if anyone wants to see my famout hackjob of a car, it's here.
I should be able to to meet up with you in columbia no problem. Maybe even get a few hours sleep before we leave. Wanna pm me your address and number and such?
And a hint to all, I will not be in the 96 this year, its still in the middle of a 4v swap. But i will be in a mercury
large party at fila's.lol
You guys clean up after, sure. If the RRI gets full fine.,lol. You come here you have to work on my car though
Well jeezus Mike, with that line of thinking, I may as well invite everyone over to my house to fix my water softener, rewire the breaker box and re-shingle the roof.
For once...can ya stop thinking of yourself? Just for a few days?
I was being a smartass Eric. I do wana actually meet alot of people though. All of the people that have helped me get as far as I have on the car. I couldn't have done it without everyone.
I would most likely say it is a multifunction switch.
Hey all, got a link here for the local weather forecast:
http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?CityName=Youngstown&state=OH&site=CLE
You can also find this on the Cat Jam main page (http://www.coolcats.net/catjam/index.html).
ya know, just about everything listed sounds like a breeze compared to the turbocoupe engine swap.
sounds like fun!!!!!! when do we start :flip:
I'm now tryin' to get the '95 ready for a run to see my friend Keith in Alliance... If I can get out of here Fri, and my luck holds, I may just see you all Sat...
Tom
Tom don't you tease us now!!
so looks like 30% chance of rain Friday and Saturday.
hey!!! got the a/c working, the fan clutch is..... clutching... and the dash is back together.... i think we're ready for a trip to

I'll be in Friday through probably half of Saturday, then I'm visiting a buddy in some little middle of nowhere town on my way home to do a big project in RI.
Oh yeah, rockin the ranchero again ;) If all goes well with a new look before I head back to Ohio from RI :D

My car has been in the shop and I still haven't gotten it back yet. All it needs is a catalytic converter. The part allegedly came in today, and it was the wrong one. The guy working on it called to say he ordered the right one and it should be in tomorrow and I should get the car by the afternoon. He's been a neighbor of thirty years so it's hard to yell, but he's had the car FOR NINE DAYS already! He knows I need it to drive out there, but what the heck was he doing with it the past week? I *hope* I can get it in time to drive out there, much less clean it up in advance, but who knows.
Looks like due to work issues I'll only be able to make it for Saturday. Might be able to stay for Sunday but I'll have to see how things go tomorrow.
im heading to the airport in about 12 hours. Like I said, Im bringing a mercury this year.
we just got in at the microtel i guss tomorrow will be geting the car cleaned up for the week end id like to hit a junk yard and try to find some parts
I could use one of those metal clips that hold an 87/88 brake light on, if someone there has one.
Can't make it this year guys and gals, too much stuff on my plate. Have a good one and see ya'll next year! Take lots of pictures for me.
off-road h-pipe---- ehmmm*cough*cough*----- straight pipe *eehhnmmm*cough*cough*.....:beatyoass:

! There goes the Chinese Auction!
Sorry you won't make it Andrew! That sucks. Take care and hopefully you can make it next year.
holy .. is catjam starting tomorrow.... i gotta get going :)
emissions... yeah we dont have that in ohio
Im heading out in a few minutes
I won't be there either. Should be the last one i ever miss though.
you I gotta finish my car!!!! It is'nt even driveable right now.
I have several things going on that's keeping me from going. Again, it's a every-other-year curse for me for some reason. :(
Weather update:
It's pouring rain here. I'm about 13 miles from cj hit or miss, and it's raining hard here.
Edit:
On and off but still sprinkling now.
me and nick/blown 306 are at the microtel and its off and on ...now ..i also need to find a place to wash the cat before the show
Watch out for Nick. He gets a little touchy/feely when he has a few beers in him, if you know what I mean...
I'm liking the weather report from weather.com better than Eric's link. They are saying 60%, 40%, 40% chance of rain for Friday, Saturday, Sunday, while Eric's says 70%, 70%, 60%.
Is weather multiple choice?
so are you ready for this........ i made my reservations at the rri in FEBRUARY.... i went to print the confirmation to take with us and noticed....... I ONLY BOOKED FOR FRIDAY NIGHT!!!!!!! originally back in feb we were going to have to leave on sat night to be home on sun, but now we don't and i never changed them, and guess what?? OH shiznit... everything is booked!!!!! thank god the cougar has a comfortable front seat to sleep in :hick: ...... the wife's going to kill me :beatyoass: :flame: is anyone canceling reservations for sat??? anyone :)
im sure out of every one here there is room in someones room my wife and i are stuck in a 10x10 room at microtel if we had room you could room with us but i dont even have room to change my boxers:hick:
I got Clay roomin with me, sorry
not exactly looking for a place to squat, but thanks for the offer...... i decided to call directly to the rri (instead of their generic 800 number), thinking maybe they could help me better... they said they were booked up... and get this, they are overbooked by 2 rooms, so i guess they are hoping for 2 cancellations.... it seems i'm the first to ask for an extension, so if 3 people cancel, i get the 1st available.... if not, that's ok too.... i checked and there are a bunch of rooms in new philadelphia, oh which is about an hour and a half on the way home, so if all else fails, i'll just leave late sat night and get a room to sleep in there.... no worries :)
well im heading out.leaving MN ill see u guys in 12hrs.wha whooo cj hear i come
Whew! Got the car back at 7:40pm. Hurried up cleaning the turbines, washed it, and (mostly) waxed it until I ran out of light (only half of the roof is left, but my clearcoat is so weathered I doubt the wax did anything). Quickly spray-painted a beat-up center cap and have to Armor-All the interior tomorrow (maybe 15 mins to do that). It looks like I'll make it out there, though I'm still a bit concerned about how the car struggles to make 12V when the lights+A/C are on (that's situation normal for me, though -- sometimes I have to budget my electrical consumption at night, which is why I put a voltmeter in). So, barring hitting a deer, uninsured Philly driver doing 80 and yakking on a cell phone, or an asteroid, I'm hoping to get there sometime around 4pm.
(yes, I know I just jinxed it).
Leaving in the morning in a '95 Bird that has less than 900 miles total on it since May of '04(and I've put 125 of those on it in the last two days)... Wish me luck...
Leaving after work to Toledo for a wedding. Wo-hoo! Can't wait. =/
Will be there Saturday though.
I'm leaving in about an hour, see you all at the Jam.
The jinx hit :(
My taillight has been having trouble staying on (because I need clips) and when I was trying to get it to stay on I wound up cracking the lens. I super-glued the lens together so it's all in one piece but it just goes to show never to tempt fate. Anyhow, if anyone happens to have an extra LH taillight for an '87 bird I'd love to buy it off you...
According to their website, C&M auto salvage has left side taillight for $35. Located 7.8 miles from the RRI.

I'm planning on leaving here around 6:00AM. That should get me there by 10:00 without risking too many speeding tickets. ;)
I am leaving at around 4:00 am stopping in the hotel hopefully around 9:00 ish and head out to Summit.
Heading out the door. See you guys shortly.

Thanks for the help with the CIA install guys, Nick and Mikeal, couldn't of done it as fast without it. Makes a neat sucking sound now when you hold the throttle down a bit. :D I am really sorry about your 84 Cougars new blemish Eric, but I gotta say.... Isn't Karma a bitch? But at least now you fit in with the Canadiena group though. LOL.
I had a great time hanging out with you guys this weekend, and it was really nice meeting you guys finally, (Shawn, Nate, Claude, and everybody else). I still laugh when I think about Nick's response when he realized who he was helping with the CAI install. "Holy shiznit! I know you! Your 1WLD BRD!, LOL. Nice to finally meet you Nick. Next year you gotta take me for a rip. ;)
Wow...it was a hell of a weekend. The rundown:
- Approx. 38 cars showed up over the course of the weekend.
- We had approx. 75 people in attendance.
- Virtually everything went off without a hitch.
- Rain on Thursday and Friday night, but Saturday was dry enough. By the Chili's show the sky cleared out nicely.
And best of all:
- We raised $1000 for charity, in a year where hotel rates went up significantly and gas prices remained high compared to years past. I can't express how proud I am of this group, how they continue to be generous year in and year out. Simply amazing.
There will be a LOT more photos posted, I'm sure, in the coming days. Hopefully everyone got home alright (please check in here, if you remember LOL).
The downers:
- Matt broke down part-way home with a bad fuel pump.
- Shannon broke down on the way from Minnesota with a locked-up alternator and shredded belt.
- Dan's battery contacted the hood and caused some stalling issues, requiring a tow home (thankfully he's local and has good friends with tow trucks LOL)
Overall...excellent turnout. I'm very happy and very proud of all of you! Thanks again!
mark my words, come hell or highwater, ill be there next year.
Cool video of 5.8Fastcat, leaving the hotel:

so it was matt that lost a fuel pump, which guy is he? Jon told me about that when i meet him today, said it was a blast so im DEF going next year, and jons tbird will have some new wheels soon, a set of 16 inch snowflakes! Hope your happy with them bud. theres his car right at the edge of the last pic. Do i spy 2 mark 7's dead center? You guys will without a doubt see me there next year, unless the car decideds to be a beast.
No those are two black 85 cougars... no marks this year.. except for a 94
o ok well there will be one next year and that vid, o man that cougar sounds SWEET! Not to mention looks amazing!
Gregg's new Cat is LOW. That's a killer group shot too! I hate being so far away (and not having a Cougar anymore). Maybe Layla will need a road trip next year...
Thats what you can do with air bags. pull up, park, and set it on the ground.
make that 2 fuel pumps..... mine started going with about 300 miles left and i had to stop every hour or so to let it cool down.... nothing like turning a 10 hour trip into a 13 hour one.... joy :punchballs:
but overall it indeed was a good weekend.... it was weird seeing all those cars together.... and the coolest thing is that there were so many that the guys at the car show didn't have enough spots saved..... now how's that for a turn out!
layla needs a road trip!
My fuel pump went bad going home Saturday night. I was 7 miles into PA on RT 80. My cougar is the 88 red xr7. A state trooper gave my friend and his wife and I a ride to a diner. A towing company towed my car to their yard which was a few miles from the place it broke down. I plan to go out one day this week with my f-150 to tow it home. It was rough thing to have happen since I live 250 miles from the spot it broke down. Cat Jam was a great time even though my car broke down. Someone in one of the previous posts asked which car was mine. I tried to post a url but recieved the following message.

hey guys i made it back with no issues.good trip home.thanks to all that helped me out.it was a pleasure to see every 1 again and cant wait till next year.
holy , i just got home at 1:25 am. that 400 mile trip in my gokart made my back and ass feel like they got hit by a truck. time for bed so i can get my sweet 4hrs of sleep before work at 6am lol...
Atleast your car wasn't absorbed by the 4X4 from hell... again
I had a blast out there. The stang made it there, with trac-lock issues, and sprung a very small radiator leak. Made it there and back without a hitch.
I also learned that western PA and MD has nothing but country and gospel radio stations.
YEA the radio SUCKS around here! sorry to hear it went out on you matt. when i meet quietleaf(jon) he mentioned it.
im home we left sun at 5:00pm and got to florida at 8:30.....we had a blast ....:cougarsmily:
Bearmax...it was great to have you here, buddy. I hope you and the family were okay going home...it was a hot one.
Dammit...I forgot a few things:
- Those that left late Saturday or early Sunday...I'm sorry if I didn't catch up with you. The show is growing and I try very hard to spend a little quality time with every person, but as you can see, sometimes that's difficult. I sincerely hope you had a good time here, and a safe journey home.
- A huge THANK YOU to all who contributed to the show, in one way or another. There were a lot of people who did...it's greatly appreciated.
- This was probably the smoothest-running Cat Jam yet. Relatively no issues, and those that popped up were dealt with quickly and efficiently. Amazing group.
Thank you again for your generosity, your partition, your patience and your understanding. I couldn't have asked for a better group of people. YOU MAKE ME PROUD!!!
No, thank you Eric. I had a great time and will be back next year
Shooting for next year.
The car obviously did not want to make the trip (as evidenced by my engine problems thread). That combined with a few other issues, including my family trip this coming weekend, it just wasn't going to work out.
you made it home in 3 1/2 hours:D
Hey all. Sorry I haven't posted until now. Wanted to get up a web page with all my pics before I posted, but taking longer than I want, so I'll just post a few here for now.
We had an absolute BLAST!! Thank you very much Eric, for doing this year after year. It was great to see everyone again and to meet a few new people. The picnic was, once again, awesome! And the Chinese auction was fun too (even better this year because I won a great folding chair, thank you Eric! When I get a chance I'll get a pic so everyone can see how cool it is). The Chili's show wasn't as good, quantity-wise, (the Cruzer's are probably extra glad we showed up this weekend hehe), but the quality of cars there was awesome as usual (especially the TWO Grand Nationals!!!).
We got home around 3pm Sunday afternoon without incident. Well, until we got home to find my dad sick. Ended up going to the ER to find out he had a problem with his appendix. Ended up being at the hospital until around 1am and they were scheduling surgery for about 3am. The surgery went well and he's OK now, but they said he was lucky he went in when he did because it was near bursting.
Then I find out this morning that my brother and his family, who were visiting up here from Manasass, VA, were in a car accident about 6am this morning when another driver fell asleep at the wheel, bounced off of a guardrail and into their van. My bro, his wife, 3 nephews and a niece are all fine as I gather the car sideswiped the driver door. I understand they were even able to drive the rest of the way home.
So all my CatJam weekend drama happened after CJ. ;)
Anyway, here are a few pics until I get the page done. For whatever reason, I didn't take near as many pictures this year. I don't know why.

Blackcat96 3-year morph (http://"http://wm3banners.net/catjam07/Shannon-morph_320.avi")
We already can't wait for next year!!!
It sounds like you all had a great time and everything went smooth.
you all have some nice looking cars.wish I could have made it this year, but I really didnt want to go without my car :disappoin .............cya all next year for sure.
It does look like you guys had an awesome CJ this year! I'm so glad that the weather cooperated with you. I was a little worried Friday night when you had some severe stuff coming through your area. I watched the radar. I crossed my fingers and said a little prayer for ya.
I wish I could have made it to CJ this year, mainly to just get away. Oh well, maybe next year. Hopefully my car will be in better shape by then. I still have a lot to do yet before I can even drive it around HERE.
DW
Well my truck gets fixed next Monday, the Cougar is getting some love too. Next year I will definetly be there.
Derick,
I brought U a shirt back.
And I made it home about 12.35AM
You have to watch those from Canadia! You will be talking to them and all of a sudden they will be speaking in tongue!
Sounds like everyone had a great time. Wish I could have made it but there's always next year.
By then I'll be a college grad and hopefully things will be on the up and up.
Yeah Fred! I was looking around, I could see Baxo, Shawn, Clayton and a few others. I was like "where is Fred"? :(
You forgot that I broke down (sort of) on the way TO Cat Jam.
For all those still wondering where my 93 was, I blew the seals in my PS rack in the middle of Jersey. I had just enough PS fluid to get back home and swap out for my Explorer, more affectionately known as the ThunderCougarFalconBird.
Yeah, but John...the other guys weren't cooches. They made it here. :flip:
LMAO! Hey Eric...what did you drive all weekend??? ;)
Drove the '84 on Friday, drove the convertible Saturday night...I don't see the issue. ;)
Yeah, I remember being in Youngstown all weekend... I can only think of one guy that broke down and still didn't make it there. And he's lucky he can see over the steering wheel of his car.
And that jerk even made that poor little girl cry...
BAHAHAHAH!! You are evil John!
I can't belive you guys told him that he made the little girl cry.
I've seen others posing this question, especially on the CougarNuts board, so I thought I'd ask it here.
They are wondering if there is something going on with the CoolCats site, as it hasn't been updated with CJ07 post-event information and pictures.
I told them it might just be that Eric has just been too busy to get it updated.
Anyone know?
Eric?
I am currently revamping the entire site with an all-new layout and won't be making any changes to the current one anymore. New site will be up and running by Christmas. That's about the best I can do right now. :)
That's cool Eric, like I said, it's just that people have been asking.
I'm going to assume that the web address is staying the same?
Anyway, thanks for everything you do for us, Eric. It is greatly appreciated!
