Title: Stock fox vs 94-95 Mustang headers
Post by: 4mykid on September 19, 2006, 12:09:36 AM
Was out in the garage  around and cleaning up when i set my stock 92 5.0 headers beside the stock 95 5.0 headers when I sure noticed some rather large differences between them. The 95 headers seem to be a much better quality as well they seem to have a lot less crimps bends and restrictions in them. From some research I have done I am told that the 95 headers will fit in my bird, anyone else ever used them or tried ? In the one pic you can definately see less restriction in the collector exit between the two. If they work I will let you all know!

Wow, that is a noticable difference in the tubing and the collector. The SN header sure looks like it should flow alot better. I might try and find a set of those for my 87.

I dont see any reason why they wouldn't work. Hell I've got 1 5/8 JBA shorties on the 86 and they fit fine.

For the 20 bucks I paid I figured it was worth a shot, I'm surprized I didnt notice the difference sooner as they were maybe 5ft away from each other initially but then when I put them away beside each other the differences stuck out like a soar thumb. The pictures dont do the 95 headers any justice as they are definately bigger/better...oh i hope they work!

I can't quite make out the end that fits into the H-Pipe. Is the ball end similar in shape? The opening looks larger, but so long as it fits into the H-Pipe flared end, Bob's your uncle eh!

SRbird...The ball end looks very simular if not the same... just looks like the big brother of the smaller one. I am going to take them over to a buddies this weekend where I just picked up the new HO motor from,he has a like new H pipe from the car the motor came from and I am going to check the fit. I will let you know.

Nice find and good info so are those headers only found on 94-95 stangs or any other vehs.
And my guess they would make a better upgrade over the 86-93 headers not only cause they look like they flow better but the o2 sensor is easier (may you don’t have to extent it).

The SN 95  looks like it has the same OD with a larger ID hence more airflow.

There must have been some reason for the multiple bends in the "old" headers. Better check for interference with the motor mounts and steering shaft.

I know on my car with column shift and all, there is nothing close to the bends on the "old" headers, so I wouldn't see how the new ones would cause problems.
