Title: '79 Fairmont Drag Car?
Post by: DVP on September 12, 2006, 11:22:07 PM
i want a drag car and i got the itch real bad since i went to the track last week.

i found a 79 fairmont 2 door that runs for 300. not sure what the body looks like right now but what would i be in for as far as frame work. is it a unibody? i tink it is, with four lug and what motors came in them

i was thinking 460, dual carbs scooped, 9" w/4:11's tubbed, fuel cell, stripped interior, a racing bucket, every gauge known to man, cage, suspenion work.

just a start, i want it to sit low like Uncleford's bird. love that stance.

what do you think. i need a cheap drag car(like that a real thing) to build.i want it to :beatyoass: some:shakeass:

and i would like to drive on the streets.

and the paint theme is already decided, Primer Black.

It is a Fox chassis....Mustang parts front and rear.

I have an 80 Z-7 (the Mercury version of the Futura) I'm going to be looking ot get rid of.  It will be a roller.  Could use a door and a fender (I have) and some other misc body work, but the platform is solid with little rust underneath, and what there is is only surface.

im it stl and your in indy. thats a drive for a roller. but a right price at the right time. right now thinks are just a thought, i need to pay off my debt soon, within the next month and a half and then im getting a second car. i what something off stream for the most part. ill even do a Chevy, and throw a 460 at it. the look at the faces when the chevy powered ford role is switched!

what kind of work is nessacery for a drag car.

weight reducing
frame reinforsments (roll cage, and.....what?)
power

what do i need to have a good car as far as everything minas the motor?
