I stumbled upon this awesome article about this 83 pro stock Bird. It was so far ahead of its time that it was only run 3 times and cut into pieces because the engineer didn't want his designs copied and wanted to "sit back and see" how long it would take for everyone else to catch up.
It's a great story if your into the "skunk works" kind of thing!
Hope the link works: http://www.theoldone.com/prostock-T-Bird/
I read that. It is pretty intesting. Gives you the inside of how great cars are built.
sweet
I read that and it sounded like i was praying! "oh god, oh god, oh god yes!"
No seriously, that is wicked killer... look at that chassis.

I found that 2 years ago and have been doing research on it ever since. That car never made a pass. The REAL reason it was cut up was because it wouldn't pass tech for the NHRA, IHRA or AHRA. Nobody wanted to be liable for certifying the chassis. SFI ordered the car cut up. There's a small bulletin about it in the 1983-4 NHRA year in review booklet. The guy that built it is kind of a wack job. He has some sort of Honda that made a few magazines for running 10's with a "miracle" blower. The company quickly went out of business. 99% of the research I've done says the guy is just some doddering old fool though I have run across a few tidbits that may still pan out. I can't even find out if he's still alive. Nevertheless, it's an interesting story and I'm saving a Pro-Stock TBird kit to build into his car.
"well **** you mr bear!!! YOU speak LIES!!! Liiiies!!!"
That was a quote from JTHM. I just thought that was appropriate. Then again... was i really thinking?
Was this actually killed or is this in someone's barn?
Lies! LIES! That car was built by Krass & Bernie (see my new sig :beatyoass:)
Dammit, my issue of CC hasn't shown up yet! They better hurry up:beatyoass:
Hmmm, maybe it's time to send them a pic for the readers rides section...
Nice! K&B rock! Yes, SFI cut that car up.
