ALRIGHT !!!!!!!! I installing the ported E-7's this time.Right after supper tonight,I put the car up on the ramps, the rear up on jack stands, pulled the intake, fan, shroud, header bolts, and valve covers before it got dark.In the morning,I'll drop the X-Pipe and pull the heads. That won't take long.Then,WOO-HOO.....my new heads !!!!I know it may not be much to some, but I'm excited. Those should really help the car over the py E-6 heads that came with this '86 H.O. engine. The engine has a few light mods, but I never messed with the heads. Now is the time.I'll let you know by lunch tomorrow how it all turns out.Stay tuned...........................
The heads are on,now the exhaust is leaking like crazy. The X-Pipe needs to be adjusted. That'll happen tomorrow morning, then, out to see what she's got.
Take some pics....
Let us know how she runs... especially your "seat of the pants impessions" of the difference between the e6 and e7's.
I took pics.3 or 4.I have to take an "after" shot.It looks the same, just a lot dirtier because of the hands in oil, getting it all over the polished parts, kind of thing. After I re-adjust the X-Pipe,I'll let you know the difference in how she runs. There better be a difference.Ported E-7 over E-6 is a good thing. With the flat top pistons, and,a budget, they will be fine. The 'bird weighed in at 3200 and change. Not too bad.Hoefully this engine combo will get the old girl flying.
