Title: 4.2 swap
Post by: CougarXR/7 on September 10, 2006, 12:58:23 AM
Has anyone tried the newer 4.2 from an F - 150/Windstar to replace a 3.8? Just curious if this is a cheaper alternative to a stroker kit.

That *is* the stroker kit. Guys were doing the swap before stroker kits were available.

A guy on TCCOA did it in an MN12, and it has a good amount of tech. Might be worth checking out if youre interested in the swap.

I'm a member on SCCoA and hit the TCCoA site too.

Just getting as much information as I can on this.

:grinno: what he said,,,lol

anyway,,, the crank it a totally different animal and i was very anxious to ,,,,ummmmm ,,,,, see what happens when you install an internal balanced crank into an engine with external balance.  That was my primary concern.  In short, just bolt the stuff in , re-ring kit and button it up.
