Post by: 86 night cat on September 06, 2006, 11:03:18 AM
hello again! i am trying to remove the dash cluster to replace my digi-spedo. the problem is that after i have it unbolted, it doesn't seem to have enough room to manuver it to remove. is there a trick?

I don't know if there is a trick but I also had a little problem getting mine out. If memory serves me, I had to get the bottow left corner out past the switch assembly, then rotated the right hand side until I could get my hand in to remove the plug. There are two tabs on the plug - one on either side - that you have to nip together before the plug will come out.

Even with that little problem it took me less than 5 minutes to remove it.

Put your signal switch in the down position, and lower yout steering wheel (tilt it down),and it'll come out.Like T-Growl said, you need to pinch the clips on the plugs to remove the gauge cluster.two plugs on the back.

You remembered to undo the shift indicator clamp on the column, right?  Or are you just going to rip it out?
