Title: 5.0 swap into a 2.3 turbo coupe

i plan on buying an 88 2.3 turbocoupe for 400 dollars, i have heard that you have to switch out a crossmember or something i plan on dropping in my 5.0, if i do that will the motor drop right in.

seriously, nice little project. search around at least a little. the conversion has been covered alot around here....

Bull $hit... You get a deal go for it, '87 & '88 models are common...

But unless you are fairly experienced better forget it, this ain't a swap for the first timer...

Well they arent common around here, mine is the only one I ever see on the road. Even though my car isnt nearly the best example, people look and go wow what is that.

Regardless. Heres the deal. Is the motor  to begin with?  I'd say, if it runs good, keep the 2.3 and put your money there.  After going through all the trouble of getting all the swap parts you need, it would be better just to stick that money into the 2.3.  you will have a faster car and a conversation piece to boot.  If the motor is  however, Id say go for it.  And TC50 is correct:  It isnt just swapping out a crossmember.  And it is definitely NOT for a first timer.
