Title: Injector cleaning
Post by: 4mykid on September 01, 2006, 01:28:16 AM
Any suggestions for cleaning up a set of 19lb injectors before they get reinstalled. My bro in law is putting his stang back together and we are just trying to take the time to ensure evrything has a good chance of working properly and is also cleaned/maintained up while its out. Is it recommended to change out the rubber O-rings on the injectors while we are at it? Thanks in advance.

Yeah, definitely do the o-rings.  You can buy them in either sets of 4 or 8. I don't remember which, but I did them on my Grand Marquis back in the day.  Also, take the caps off the injectors and bathe those s in brake/carb cleaner.

like stated before you can soak them in carb cleaner weather it help or not is to be debated even though ive done it in the past myself.

I would suggest after you guys get it running you find someone with a pressure cleaning kit and have them pressure cleaned.
