Has anyone built a reliable street engine using stock, ported e6se heads? How much horsepower can be produced with these heads?
Better to just get a set of cheap e7's,they can usually be picked up for under 100bucks and can be ported quite a bit and can flow fairly decent, but after all the port work has been done the cost factor is almost a set of used aluminums.
think it was this forum that i saw that e6 heads ported and with bigger valves only flow close to stock e7s. i know the e6, is a high swirl newer disign head for emmissions. i wouldnt bother with them eather, hell like most of the other stuff we up grade to with our cars, other people throw away, so you can get it very cheap. think i even have one or 2 sets of e7 heads id sell cheap just to get rid of them.
e6 are a poor flowing head with extremely shrouded valves. the valves are also sunk deeper into the heads. Good for emmisions bad for performance.
Look at the GT40 and GT40 p heads,65-66 289 heads ,69-71 351W 4 brl heads, and e7's for cheap bolt on power.
sleeper t-bird 87, your bird is really cool looking, i like the airfilter coming out of the hood, it makes it look mean. i thought you couldnt have heads from the 60's because of emmisions reasons. do they flow pretty good?
ok so sleeper, can i have these heads on my block? its on ebay 180025195896

These 351c heads ?! I would think they would have to be either 289/302/351w only
Why don't you just stick to whats works and thats E7's, gt40 or gt-40p or aftermarket..
My 'Bird really runs strong, and I have E-6 heads ('86 5.0 H.O. with a few mods),but I have a set of ported E-7 heads and that should make a difference that I can feel when I hit the gas.The E-6 heads really do suck.
