Engine Tech / distributor gear ?????'s
i will measure the shaft but does the shaft diameter determine wether or not it is iron i am looking for a tfi that i can just drop in that has an iron gear


i really dont want to mess with swapping gears in the dist

THE QUESTION : can any one tell me what car i can get a tfi with iron gear from i have searched hi and low and i cant seem to find any thing that is helpful i was told a lincoln town car but not sure
i was given one out of idk what is there a way of telling what gear it has on it

Backstory:

well every one i havnt been on in a long while cause some drunk ran a red light and totaled my bird but i gots me a new one with a weird engine combo

i got a a9l and a 91' mustang harness slapped on a 289 with ported e7 heads cobra rockers and a comp 280h cam (302) firing order the a9l has been tweecered to the right firing order all dumped in a 84' t-bird

yeah i know its a lil diffrent but it works i ahve fired it up it idles good and revs fine i have not driven it yet because i dont have the right gear on my distributor it has a steel one and i need a iron one

WOOOO ITS GOOD TO BE BACK IN A BIRD!!!!!

well now that i read all the post i would like to post again.

i do think its a good idea to make cars safer, but i am unsure about some things they do. i mean i feel like my freedoms are being taken from me. i dont have the freedom to choose to wear my seat belt or not i wear it but i dont like it simply because it is uncomfortable. and couldnt they have done other things rather then make seat belts mandatory. uh eating while drivng messing with the radio talking on the phone site seeing while driving and i heard from some one that putting on make up while drivng is the equivalant to driving drunk. what about the tvs in the cars i mean they are a distraction to you and any one in other cars who can see them i just think they could do away witha lot more but even if they did it would still be taking away a freedom to do some thing. but i guess every one will never be happy with whats going on just got to grin and bere it all.

well i dont mean to step on toes or any thing but, i hate when people say seat belts save lives. I have a buddy who was a in a bad accident. He fell asleep at the  wheel and fliped and rolled his car several times he was ejected from the car doctors and surgens said if he had been wearing his seat belt he would have died. I saw the car and it stood from wheels to roof a lil over 2 feet high. the only reason he flew out was cause it was t top. sorry just had to vent

Drivetrain Tech / Do I have to do something to my tranny
:pbb: got to love the new smilys lol I dont mean to step on any ones toes,but it is more efficent to hook a big cooler to the radiator instead of bypassing it. I wont waste any ones time explaining it, but i will if any one wants me to. :2c:

Engine Tech / ok need advice on new heads
I dont know if you all remeber but i had my 306 running decent. Till a head started leaking water into the runner. Well since then i got a pair of c9oe's (351W) from 88cat i am in the process of putting screw in studs, plates, porting the exahust, new valves, springs the works.

Here is where i need the help these heads have a 60cc chamber i want to have them milled down to 58cc, wich i would have to have about .012 of inch taken off of them (from what i have been told). I need some confimation on that, also i would like to know if milling them that much would cause intake alignment problems(i have been told no) thanks for help

yeah i know how you feel it felt good to be back in the bird even tho it was brief i need to bleed the brakes and get it registered as well lol and mine definitly needs a drop in the front as well looks like we are in the same busted a$$ boat
