Suspension/Steering / A few Brake / Suspension Questions..Been Awhile and yes I searched!
Darren thanks.

I have about 5 aluminum driveshafts from 93 mark VIII's lying around here.  I just cant find the factory lenght driveshaft I had which was what I had been using with my original  speed swap.

As far as rear brakes.  I recall the TC rear brake line going from the proportioning valve to the rear brakes as being larger.  Is that correct?

Also I currently have installed a complete sn95 rear with brakes.  I may just go with a cobra rotor/brake setup as its easier at this point and parts will surely be easier to get in the future

Suspension/Steering / A few Brake / Suspension Questions..Been Awhile and yes I searched!
Well for starters I built my 87 cougar xr7 back in 1994.  More recently I sold it to a good freind of mine.  Here are some of the original general brake/suspension specs

88 Turbo coupe rear housing and brakes (4 lug)
Grigs heavy duty Panhard/torque arm setup
Grigs rear weight jacker control arms/heim joints (dont think they sell these anymore)
In the floor subframes/outer subframes
Front tubular K member and coil over setup (was for an 94/95 sn95)
Front coil over kit with caster camber plates for a fox tbird / cougar)
fox stang brake upgrade (4 lug) master and booster

Being that 5 lug is the way to go we are currently doing some upgrades which is where the questions come into play.

1)Added 94 sn95 front spindle assymbly with 13" cobra setup...No issues
2)Swaped in a 94 sn95 rear complete to replace TC rear.  Rear was built so it was just easier to swap.
3) Added sn95 Booster and bendix master.  Also have the sn95 proportioning valve.

Now my questions.  Im figuring this is a fairly common upgrade brake and rear wise nowadays as TC rears are harder to come by and people want 5 lug.  Before I start swapping out and runnign into issues I want to ask

1) I want to get rid of the solid rear rotors and use vented. Are the sn95 backing plates the same to where I can use my TC calipers?  I realize I will need properly drilled rotors. To that extent has anyone upgraded to cobra rear rotors using the TC calipers.  Factory 5 sells adapters to run those calipers with a larger rotors

2)Now Booster/master/proportioning valve.  Has anyone used this combo?  Ill more than likely run an adjustable proportioning valve.  Whats been done with this setup?

One last thing.  Im converting the car back to stick...Now for the life of me I cant find the driveshaft.  I recall my factory lenght driveshaft working when I had a stick in it 15 years ago.  Are there any cars that have the proper lenght driveshaft I can use? At leats if I have the proper lenght I can go get one I have lying around cut down or a new one made. (This I didnt look up as it just dawned on me)

Any help would be greatly appretiated!  Many thanks

Electrical Tech / Tailights and dash lights out!!!
Luckily I  had a spare..Was definitely the headlight switch.  Is this common?  I know on my GT I put another relay in because without it the multifunction switch goes bad due to the foglights...With this....I just dont know!

Electrical Tech / Tailights and dash lights out!!!
I was on a real long drive and started smelling burt electric something or other. No issues though..On my way back the next day I smelt it again....No issues and couldnt see anything....Last night my dash lights and tailights went out.

Im figuring it may be the hedlihht switch nd my multifunction seems to be operating ok.  I also figured this had to happen to someone else.  Any ideas before I look into it?

Also seems my AC isnt blowing cold not but that can be totally unrelated!

Thanks

Suspension/Steering / 88 front control arms
So finally I did the front control arms...I forgot what a PIA is is!

Apparently my spring compressor for some strange reason no longer is able to be taken apart in my spring once installed..Either that or someone did a swaparoo on me! So I did the prybar /jack method..Smmootthhhh

Well my front end noises are now gone.  WHat I have is  D springs, low mile cobra control arm swith new ball joints.

I didint get to do the sway bar bushings or tie rods but the tie rods looked ok.  The sway bar bushing well....What was left of them was um err.....Surprisingly the end links looked new.

SO the next chance I get will involve the rear springs and control arms.  I am noticing allot less bounce in the front even with my ORIGINAL 133,000 struts...The car came with new rotors and pads so when they go I plan on upgrading to fox 11" setup and changing the struts and shocks

Anyway not much more to update...I will take some photos soon

Been doing some cosmetic work here and there

Let's just get back to subject and no arguing.I'm trying to figure out what the push rod situation will be once I get the cam.I'm going with V8Demon's Trick Flow cam and will sell my E303 and go from there.I guess I can wonder about push rods all I want, but won't make a difference until I get the cam and springs installed. As far as Mas Air and injectors.I'll keep the 19's and 73mm meter until I find a C&L meter and sensor (for 24's) then install them eventually. No rush. For what I will have,I think 19's will work, but I am not sure of their limitations.

stock lenght should be fine it's not a regrind

Suspension/Steering / 88 front control arms
I'm doing it this weekend.  For now Im just doing tire rods, balljoints, control arms, end links and the lowering springs along with the spring isolators.  I probably need sway bar bushings but I will need to measure and get those as well

Now Im not doing struts/shocks because I am unsure what I will be doing with the brakes..Upgrade to 11" etc..Ill do struts and strut mounts then

Ill then look into the rear bushings and a diff rebuild...Tracloc isnt 100%
