T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / 1988 T-bird turbo coupe
This is a loaded turbo coupe with a T-5 5 speed. The car came from Georgia and commuted to Missouri for a number of years. The last year of the 2nd owners life was spent in Manitowoc, Wi. and never saw snow. It is absolutely rust free except for the lers from sitting in a dry garage.
The original Georgia clay still coats the bottom! The car was parked in '05 and the owner died in '06. A true artists palette and a barn find to boot. The interior is immaculate. EVERYTHING works except the drivers side door lock solenoid. The A.C. is "cool" and needs a pinch of R12. The compressor cycles. I replace the fuel tank, pump and sender, and a CLICK of the key it was running after sitting for 12 years. I replaced the belts also and its no runs, no leak, no errors. I still need to replace the OEM timing belt and thats only let me stomp around town, otherwise this thing is 100% driveable as is.
The power sun roof works and doesn't leak. All power accy's work with no issues. Even the cassette player works. Its got the snowflake wheels and really good, albeit, old tires. No cracks and they look new.
The worst of the whole car is the usual hazed headlight lenses. Tough tatas eh?
It runs great and is quiet except for the exhaust and as soon as that turbo spools up HOLD ON! There is a ket scratch and a very few very minor dings but NO RUST. Its waiting for the love I can give it. I am 5-10 and 300 and dont fit gently into the pen 15pit LOL.
I am considering offers, probably around $7,000.00 and trades are encouraged as well. On the QT; I'm a GM guy and am looking for old school stuff with a 4 speed even in "projectish" conditions. Clean title (transferred from Georgia! in my name on hand) Call me or PM me with any thoughts. You may be surprised!

This little 2.3 with a 5 speed is a pooch until the turbo spools up; then it becomes a monster. Even Pat the wife, wants to learn how to drive a 5 speed. Patience is a virtue eh? Theres a unit mounted on the passenger side inner fender. Looks like a new ford replacement. Info on these cars is an anomaly.
Interior is mint and almost everything works. Just needs some TLC...Cloudy yellow headlights are enough to keep me busy. Be advised; Ill have a lot of questions. Thanks again, regards, Bill in Tr

The problem now is that the service fan will not run. The AC fan cycles with the compressor so thats good. The service fan runs fine when hot wired. Is there a fuse, fusible link or relay for this and where is it? Could it also be the temp switch in the system is bad and where is that? I have this issue and the fuel gage and ammeter on the dash doesnt work. Alternator is producing 14.2 VDC. I have a Hayes shop book that is useless. Please send help, or the cavalry!
