I thought it may be the actuator but wanted some expert advice. Doesn't look like a fun job. By manually, I meant that I can open the door with both the outside and inside handles I just cannot lock the door with the or the key. I now suspect the connectors i see are for the keyless entry option which I do not have. Gotta go find an actuator................thanks again!!!
84 turbo coupe. Where are the relays located? Drivers door works manually from inside and outside fine, just cannot move the lock rod, actuator nor the key cylinder. Took the panel off and ran the lock and unlock cycle. Passenger door works fine, no noise at all on drivers side. I did notice a roung female plug end hanging just above the actuator and a double pole male end (with power present) mounted about 6 inches toward the hinge end held on with a plastic push plug. Is the relay missing? Help again.....
I really, really appreciate all the feedback. You guys were right. I contacted the previous owner and he said he does remember that his son removed the fenders at one point in time. I did measure a friend car and we both noticed the shims all over the fenders. Thanks a lot guys.............
I do not believe it was ever hit. It was stored for 9 years before I got it and nothing looks bent, kinked, twisted, etc. The latch must work as you need to pull the cable to get it opened and I have adjusted the rubber bumpers the whole way in and nothing changes. I can measure another car to see if the dimensions match. Thanks and I'll let you know.....
