What pressure/flow are you looking for? I know you want a 155 lt/hr but do you really need it?
If i go to a single in tank pump, i will need to replace the low presure in tank pump with a high pressure pump. And at some point after its up and running i am going to increase boost by a good measure and put bigger injectors... blaa blaa blaa...
I was thinking of the filter in the bay due to how much it sucks changing the filter in the drive way in the rain. As i live in Washington State and it rains 9 to 10 months of the year! But your right, its better down below.
I am going to remove and replace all the fuel lines. They are rather beaten up and are cut up in a few places. so im not worried about the removal of the old rail mounted pump.
I am not going to be doing a lot of extra boost or injectors at this time. Right now i am concentrating on getting it running. My big question is what 155 to 255 fuel pump will fit on the pickup assembly in the stock 84 location. It looks like a rather small pump on the pickup and there is NOTHING listed for what i want to do. Which i cant say i am surprised. all the mustang pumps say 85 to 93. And it looks like the Birds tanks changed in 85 as well and were the same till 88. I beleave they use the same as the mustang pump. So swapping in a new tank is a option that i am not opposed to... but if i can just change the existing pump that would work.
P.S I created this handle because for some reason i could not log in with my old one. found out the lost password emails were going to my Spam filter. My old one is Elan84. I will be posting as that one for now on. Thanks guys for your help.
I am working on my super coupe engine swap on my 84 Elan T-bird. it used to have a 302cfi engine. I am gunna rip out all the fuel lines and replace it with high pressure rubber Goodyear lines and I aim to remove the frame rail pump and move the filter to the engine bay. I need to swap on a high pressure pump in the tank. at least a 155l per hr pump. any one know of the right pump that will fit in my stock tank setup to replace the low pressure pump? do I Need a new tank or just the pickup assembly?
any help is appreciated.
p.s I will be posting a big write up on the pains of this swap when I'm done. but its will be worth it.
