General Fox T-Bird/Cougar Discussion / cougar eliminator
i know this is an old thread but since i last posted alot of things have changed. i traded my 05 trailblazer for an 02 audi tt quattro and an 86 z28 camaro. i also am getting a new job as a merchant marine for the U.S. Government. i am in the process of selling the camaro so that i can buy a cougar. my friend also got a new car to replace his xr7 that he still has and i think i could buy for about $500, needs brake lines. any more input is greatly appreciated.

yeh i would go with a 5.0l rather than the 4.6l just for reason its built for it. less fab. but if you want custom and your wallets thick, go for it.

i can do all my own fab work and i don't want a 5.0l because that's been done. i'm all about different.

???

Regarding K-members - you might look at Max Motorsports to get some answers (Store > Mustang Front Suspension > MM K-Members).

Why are you thinking about swapping K's?

because with a k-member from a newer mustang that came with a 4.6l the new 3v 4.6l will bolt right in.

i'm new here and have recently switched from driving chevys to fords due to the recent change to government motors. i was thinking of building a newer cougar eliminator by using an 83-88 cougar and droping in a 3v 4.6l with an edelbrock supercharger. my trade is body work but i have a good background in mechanical as i have been restoring cars for awhile. (including a 70 cougar eliminator) i was wondering if it is possible to put a 96-04 mustang k-member in a cougar. i know it can be put in a fox body mustang with the help of some spacers. if anyone could help me out and maybe tell me what modifications are needed it would be much appreciated. thanks.
