Body/Appearance/Interior / 87 Turbo Coupe Hood and Engine ???
Thanks for the input on the CAI

The reason i was questioning the need to plug was in reference to the "Aftermarket Hood" article in the "Modifying" page on CoolCats.net

I do have a 5.0 V8 but considered removing the scoops and putting them on the outside of the hood.  So far its just been a thought, but I haven't looked at it to close yet.

Most popular is a 1987-88 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe hood, which bolts right up to your Cougar. Obviously the scoops are no longer functional on a V6 or V8 car, and in fact should be capped to prevent water from leaking onto your distributor. Also, on SEFI 5.0 cars the a/c bracket must be shaved down so that the driver's scoop will clear. There may be minor clearance issues with other engines but nothing extremely difficult to deal with. With the availablility of these hoods, and the comfort of knowing that it's a factory Ford part, this is a very tempting proposition. Pricing is very erratic, however, so shop wisely.

Body/Appearance/Interior / 87 Turbo Coupe Hood and Engine ???
I happen to get my hands on an original Tubro Coupe Hood (but it needs some TLC) to rock on my 87 Cougar.  My question is...what kind of engine mods would be necessary to actually make it functional and not have to plug the holes?

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / Parting out 88 Cougar LS 5.0
I have a bit of a list.

1.  The driver side seat belt holder...(the thing that keeps it from rubbing on your neck...mounts at the top left of the drivers side seat.)
2.  Center console working parts that make it latch shut. Or the lid and hatch parts if its easier.
3.  The center piece for the horn.  not the cover with the cougar logo, but the actual piece that the horn wires connect to.
4.  Both speaker grills on the dash if the clips arent broke.
5.  The Grill

Any or all...if you can send the info and a price quote to  c_bass16@hotmail.com

Misc Tech / head lights?
is there ANY way to have some sort of chrome or reflective mirror finish put on the inside of my head light clusters.  I had some wild birds take out all three lights on the right side of my '87 xr7...and after 2 years, found replacements on ebay...BUT, the finish on the inside of the lights is so old and worn that my lights are nasty dim.

is their any way to re-finish the inside of my head lamps to be SHINEY again?

Misc Tech / turn signal and wiper levers
I have managed to break off the turn signal/dimmer switch lever as well as the wind shield wiper lever on the left side of my '87 cougar.  I have come across a tbird that i can get the needed parts from but was wondering if anyone has a suggestion on tools i might need or how to best reach the spots?

ohh..and has anyone else had trouble with wires inside the steering column getting worn through and causing shorts in the dash lights?  It happened to me last fall and seems to be happening again.

thanks...btw.  i have been around this site for years but this is my first attempt at checking out the forums.  hope i find all the answers to lots of questions.
