I just bought these wheels and tires and put on my car. I want to change the front tires to some 25inch tire it has 22inch. Anyone have any suggestions besides mickey thompson that cost $150 a piece
What exhaust systems are you 351 swap guys running. I have a set of short headers on my 351 swap in a 87 tc. I would love to run long tube headers and 2.5 dual exhaust with an x pipe. I read on cool cats website that a mustang exhaust system will work. If this is true and you guys have tried it summit has a good deal on a 2.5 inch x pipe kit for mustangs. I would love to see some pics custom exhaust or store bought.
what size are your wheels and backspacing? What size rear tires? What rear suspension setup do u have? Is your car lowered and if so what did you use?
I love your car that is the exact setup I am looking for. I am still undecided on draglites or pro stars. The car will mainly be used at the dragstrip but I am still going to drive on the street sometimes.
I see the chart from the other post and the t5 and c4 are very close in length. I used v8 engine mounts (from motor to motor mount) from a 87 5.0 cougar and 87 motor mounts from a tbird. Do you guys know if there are short tail shaft c4's. I got the c4 from my stepdad and he said he thought it came from a 2wd pickup truck. I was able to modify my t5 crossmeber to make it work. Is it possible to get the engine mounts backwards and have the engine to far foward. I used a 351w swap oil pan from ford racing and the engine placement looks perfic between the two humps on the oil pan. Any help would be nice so I don't have to buy a custom driveshaft
my goal is to have the same stance with ride height and wheel and tire package as 83-88t-bird guy car with the 325/50/15 tires on his car. I don't think i will go with 325's but i will probably go with 295's
I have a 87 tc that came with a 5 speed but I have swapped it out and put in a 351w with a c4. My problem is my driveshaft is about three inches to short. I was wondering if anyone has done this swap and what drive shaft they used or did they have one made. I was wondering if a factory 5.0 with an AOD driveshaft would be longer.
This is my 87 tc i bought for $300. I painted and swapped in a 351 with a c4 transmission. I still have a lot to do but I am almost to the point of being able to drive it. Still need to run new exhaust and wire in some gauges and do some odds and ins stuff. I am on the look out for some 4 lug draglites or stars. which do you think will look better stars or draglites. I want 15x4 on front and 15x8 or 9 on the back with some big drag radials.
what are the outer bars for? that looks great and it looks like you are going to have a nice setup. I just install a 351w with a c4 in my 87 tc. I am still trying to finish up a few things like exhaust and gauges and then finally going down the road and not just spinning tire in my yard. has anyone used a c4 with their setup if so what did u do about the driveshaft mine is about 3 inches to short so i bought a spacer to get me by until i can get one made.
I have a 87 tc that was a 5speed car. I am putting a 351w with a c4 in place of the 4 cyclinder. I have the motor and trans mounted but the 5speed driveshaft is about two inches to short. I had to make a bracket that mounted to the crossmember and moved to transmission mounting holes two inches forward. I now know I need a double hump trans crossmeber. So I am assuming that a c4 is about 2 inches shorter than a aod. I was wondering what vehicle I could get a longer driveshaft out of. I am thinking a crown vic with a aod any other suggestion besides getting a driveshaft built.
I am about to start my swap this weekend and trying to get some last minute parts when I found this forum. finally. 87 tc to a 351 carbed with a c4. I was just wondering if anyone has tried any 76 ford maveric motor mounts. I found a picture of some on advance auto parts website and it looks like they will work. I am going to go to the parts store tomorrow to see if they work. I would use the 87 tbird v8 mounts if i could find the bracket that goes from the motor to the top of the motor mount. No junk yards around here seem to have it or are to lazy to go look.
