the carrier and pinion assys. the mustang has 2.73 and the old merc has 3.55. so basically do the shims and crush sleeves stay with housing or carrier andvgears.
the mustang lowers will work but are like a 1/2" shorter. for the upper control arms you can use 68-72 gm a-body uppers. the mustang uppers are too short.
I feel your pain. you do need a good lawyer though. my ex and i split up almost 3 yrs ago and now finally i'm starting to become happy again. she tried all that $h!t with me and now i have what fl calls residential custody, which is almost unheard of here. they get caught in their lies and justice does prevail. I PROMISE!!!
Well guys its been a good while since i"ve been here. Alot has gone on. Right now I'm on the unemployment train. But I have internet now. Last year I was gonna drop about a grand in the sport. But came across this 88 GT Mustang dirt cheap and had to grab it. So the sport now belongs to my son.:D The Mustang isn't really clean but its low miles and rust free. Picked upa complete M2300-C brake kit for $160 in the box. Also got a set of ported & decked GT-40's w/ the 1.7 roller rockers for $150. Once I get the maintence issues the stang has and get the heads on it, the T-Bird project starts as funds allow. Gives me 9 yrs to build it with him as hes only 7.
mine was a 1980 amc concord. 2dr sedan. no a/c no power brakes. only had power steering. 258 4sp. for what it was it was pretty quick. then again i was fifteen. didn't realize what fast was till i got the 427 69 camaro. but that was 47 cars ago. lol
i want to put the tc 3.55 rear into the sport, but dont have the funds to rebuild the disc brakes. now if i use the axles and 10" drums out of the 2.73 8.8 that is in the car now, will they work in the tc housing? or are the housings different lengths? i searched but couldn't find the info i needed. both cars are 1988.
hey y'all its been a long time since i've been around. the good news is the sport is on the road and is my driver again. the paint went to hell sitting in the driveway for almost 3 years. had a few small issues. after doing what it needed last night, after running about 10 min. the smog pump locked up. fortunaty the old merc had a good one. put that in this morning. drove about twenty miles with no issues. this weekend putting in most of the raven interior from the tc. its good to be back and driving the old bird again.
