It is quite easy to change the calibration of the digital tachometer, in fact you don't need to modify the cluster at all. The digital tachometer is calibrated by adding or removing grounds to two terminals (called "tach strap 1" and tach strap 2") on the back of the cluster. To make your digital tach work with a V8 you will need to add a ground to the tach strap 1 pin in the back of the cluster. Here's the breakdown:
Tach strap 1 and 2 are terminals 8 and 9 in the grey plug on the back of your cluster. Ground terminal 8 and make sure nothing is connected to terminal 9 and your cluster will be calibrated for a V8.
Hello I have determined what my tachometer show 1.5 times greater value when reality., It is 6 cil module , perhaps . How can I select cil. quantity on the gauge ?
I have solve the problem on my t-bird by replacing relay in ventilator control module. The old one have welded contacts- the AC system were switch on all time during run. The current in the circuit is quite large for this small relay . Something like this http://www.brownbear.ru/goods/8711.html It is necessary to find strong relay, rated 20+A. I have take from old security system board.
I'm curious - did you have to trim the hvac ducts to get that LCD in there? Having a built-in pc would have its advantages but also disadvantages as I'd want to replace the entire stereo with it but boot times suck compared to instant on headunit and I would have to run Windows so Linux wouldn't be an option. Looks good with exception of the missing duct for the passenger.
Is that a 7" screen?
Missing duct for Russian climate is no problem. I use 7” monitor PROLOGY PCM 700 with self-made case. There is no buttons, only IR input. The monitor is connected to ACC line and programmed for auto power on. The monitor is same like one of LILLIPUT from US market.
Comp is mount in luggage compartment on steel panel. I use the soft PPU mounts for computerto minimize vibration . I also use the dc/dc converter to provide 15V to notebook
Hello! I have install the pc comp in my t-bird year ago. Real interesting thing- it provide GPS navigation , the audio/video players, EEC IV code reader, and documentation book for car. Here is some photo of installation.
