Electrical Tech / Burnt wire in trunk of 88 'Bird
While installing new speakers in my trunk, I found a burnt red wire. It is located on the passenger side. Everything was working fine last time I drove it a couple days ago. Car has premium sound system w/Infinity after market speakers. Everything still works. The only thing I can find wrong is that the power switch on the EQ has given up but if you hold it EQ comes on. I had it repaired several years ago and never switched it off. Any ideas what this is for? I can repair and add a fuse but would still like to know what is for.

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / Help Sunshade for sunroof, plus...
Looking for sunroof sunshade for an '88 T-Bird/Cougar has to be solid but doesn't have to look good. Need the interior trim for the driver's side between the winshield and the side window lite gray. Auto shifter finish plate. Also a good lock actuator!

Electrical Tech / Gauge outage turn signals related?
Been loosing my guages lately. Start the car runs fine for several miles then I loose the gauges. Strangely I also will have no turn signls. Stop the car let it sit for a couple seconds all iss well again. Happens with headlights on and off. Idling at the light, turning.
Any ideas?

Thunderjet the balancer mark was easy. Its the pointer that's vague, there isn't any degree marks.

Engine Tech / Some help with timing mark on 5.0
Replaced a thermastat on my 5.0 motor and loosened the distributer to get my hand in to one of the bolts.
After I was done, I set up the timing light to reset the base timing. Removed the jump on the distributer, found the mark on the balancer but I'm not quit sure where 10 BTDC is. Is 0 degrees the pointed mark or the notch? (note the figure below)
Also would 10 degree be say....1/4 inch away, 1/2 inch away?

Engine Tech / motor info/help
I've got to rebuild an SEFI motor in a stock '88 Sport Coupe. I thought while I was at it I might do a 347 stoker. Could I do this an leave the top end stock, stock computer, etc?

Not really thrilled with the idea of doing another HO swap.
